Some of the influence isn't always from the rapper, but from the record labels. I remember a few things from Hip-Hop in America and that 3 6 Mafia's show HollyHood or something that use to come on VH1 and the guy was telling them what they wanted to hear and that they needed to make a song pertaining to that of which he stated.

Plus... being "hood" (to my knowledge of the hoodlems I know) has nothing whatsoever with driving pretty cars with Florida tags and gettin drunk and partying and having ur pants hang below ur waist. I mean... I do that ish and I'm not even hood.
