I agree with bigdare. On Ludacris versus T.I.

Bozzio for president.
naw QD, you purposely cut off the last words of what you was quoting me on what I previously posted because you know its true. All TI talk is how he thinks he the **** just because he moved a little cocaine and how he "thinks" he is the king of the south and "bustin guns". he is not that great of a rapper.
And Ludacris does? The **** are you talking about? All he is known for is his humorous wordplay lyrical style. He's not known for deepness in content. Later, QD.[/QUOTE]
Why Don't You Like Them??
Why don't you like gay sex(assuming you don't)? I just don't. I think they both suck. I can't stand Ludacris' voice. To me, it's annoying. I'm a West Coaster through and through and an old school junkie. I dislike most anything from the South/North from 1995 and up. Later, QD.

I don't see anyone out west touching T.I.P. or Luda. At all.
i dont know, i think game can touch TI, but not luda.Originally Posted by bware113

^ when you say old school do you mean Marvin Gaye???
Marvin Gaye, as far as I know, was never a rapper. When I say old school, I mean Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Salt-N-Pepa, Treacherous Three, Whodini, MC Shan, NWA, BDP, UTFO and others from that same era. Bone is on the verge of old school, but a few years away still. Later, QD.

These guys really made southern rap what it is today and really put Atlanta on the map.

I never said Outkast didn't. But it seems you're speaking as a religious fan of Outkast. Just like TI fans scream he's the King. Just like Luda fans yell he's the King. I don't like any of the groups, so I don't have that luxury of being biased towards a certain group or individual. I did say, though, that between the two, one of them would be it. But the title King is only as good to the person as their opinion. There is no official title to be given out. If, in your mind, Outkast is King, then that's on you. If someone else thinks TI is King, then that's them. Nah mean. Later, QD.Originally Posted by 97ITR86
I do know that southern rap is not just Atlanta but lets face this city puts out more music then any other southern city. I am a big Outkast loyalist since 94. Just to me these guys are like pioneers of southern rap and made a huge difference on the scene. Don't get me wrong UGK and Scarface do deserve some credit. To me Ridn Dirty is one of the best albums ever put out. These guys have been making hits for years. I just feel like Scarface isn't looked at as a southern rapper because of his sound, he has a different vibe with his music. Well to each his own.Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ
I would have to agree with you on NWA. There will never again be a group of just raw talented rappers like NWA. I'm not a big west coast man but I have to give them much respect for there greatness.Gotta love the pioneers of gangsta rap.Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ

Now don't get me wrong, I'm still in a personal debate w/ myself on either UGK or Scarface when it comes to #1 but my top 5 are UGK, Scarface, then 8-ball & MJG, and then another battle between Outkast(Dungeon Family) and Three-6 Mafia(Hypnotized Mindz Camp).

I don't see how you can even compare 3-6 mafia to outkast........that is just sad. :-(Originally Posted by BLK JDM

Lyrically you cannot compare OutKast and 3-6 Mafia. They have such a different flow it's uncomparable. But when I compare things-I try to leave out all my biases and look at the facts. Three-6 has done a lot of things and is known throughout. Not saying OutKast isn't but if you take out bias and look at every achievement and numbers sold they're actually not that far apart.
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
3-6 Mafia = 2 Gold albums and 2 Platinum albums
Outkast = 2 Platinum albums
3 2X Platinum albums
1 4X Platinum album
1 11X Platinum album
3/6 has put out nine albums of which 5 never made Gold. Outkast has released 7 albums of which none made Gold. They all went Platinum or above. Looks pretty far apart to me, lolol. Later, QD.
So what do you get for an Oscar?? What about all the underground 3-6 albums and artists?? What about all the movies. I guess they don't count for anything when it comes to helping the South make a name for themselves in music?
Quality Perfomance and Fabrication!!
You just proved my point....they didn't accomplish anything in helping the south. Yeah they one a Grammy for a song off of Hustle and Flow!!!! Come on that doesn't make them close to being kings. To me to be considered a "king" you had to have paved the way in some fashion and really made a difference in music. I'm not saying Outkast made a difference like Grandmaster flash or Sugarhill gang but they are in a way examples of those two New York legends for the south.Originally Posted by BLK JDM
I think UGK just realized they had all the "street cred" they needed. The new albums were not as gangster as the previous. Dirty Money, Riding Dirty, etc were for a different demographic,IMO. I don't think the new albums are ****ty, just put out for the audience that will pay 15 bucks for a CD, or 50 bucks for a concert ticket. Just my opinion. If I had street cred, and was still broke, I would re-evaluate my financial situation.
EXACTLY, I would take being paid over street credibility any day, street credibility wont pay the mortgage or the high car notes, you feel me.Originally Posted by Seymour222
