    Default Alan Rossum Traded

    Wow!! I didnt see this coming!! Alan Rossum was traded this weekend for a undisclosed draft pick.

    Rossum was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an undisclosed draft pick.

    Atlanta may start establishing an eight-player practice squad Sunday.

    Ten of the team's 11 draft picks made the 53-man roster. The lone exception, center Doug Datish, was placed on injured reserve during training camp and will miss the season with a wrist injury.

    Rossum leaves with team records for punt return yards in a season (1,723), career kick off return yards (5,489) and touchdowns on punt returns (two). He had a 59-yard return that set up a score Monday night against the Bengals and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl after a 2004 season that included two interceptions on defense, a touchdown on a punt return and an NFL postseason-record 152 return yards (and a touchdown) against the St. Louis Rams.

    "It's always tough to lose a person like Allen Rossum on your football team, however we feel confident in Adam Jennings’ abilities as a returner," said Falcons President and General Manager Rich McKay. "We feel this move is in the long-term best interest of our club
