I am telling you, whether we like it or not; JT is part of hip hop culture. Just as much as the song Lip Gloss is. It is sad, I know, but that is the way it is.

Wow, much respect for saying you like that garbage. lol

Seriously though, my buddy is from houston and he loves that chopped and screwed shit. I can't stand it. Then again, I couldn't stand southern rap 5 years ago. Then I got involved with Sha, who is from Florida. I couldn't stand east coast rap until 2 Pac died and I really had no choice. lol

Not JT himself, but when people start putting rappers in their videos and songs, they become a part of hip hop culture. Sad but true.

I see what you're saying, but I don't see it that way. And of the true hip hoppers, I've never heard/read one positive thing from them on JT's involvement in hip hop lifestyle. He has tried to incorporate himself in the style, but I don't see him fitting in. Later, QD.

I am sure the same people would say that skateboarding isn't a part of hip hop either.

I'll be one of those. Skateboarding is NOT a part of hip hop. Skateboarding is a part of skateboarding. If anything, it would be closely associated with a more punk style music. That would be like saying the NFL is all cowboys and rodeos because the theme song is sung by country folks. Lolol. Later, QD.

I would disagree. MOST skateboarders listen to some form of rap music as well as other types of music. Pharrell carries around a skateboard in half his videos. Hip hop as a culture is extremely diverse. It seems to be consuming everything in its path.

It use to be just a black thing, then it spread across racial boundries, then across territorial boundries. Hip hop includes culture in Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Japan. It is everywhere.

Oh, you know I can't disagree with you there. Any of that. What I can say is this:

Some skateboarders have incorporated some form hip hop into their lifestyle.

But that doesn't mean that hip hop has incorporated skateboarding. I can guarantee you that more hip hop people dislike skateboarding than skateboarders do like hip hop. Hopefully you can follow that mess, lolol. Later, QD.

I understand what you are saying, but if skateboarders are listening to rap music and rappers are carrying skateboards; it would be tough to completely dismiss skateboarding as a part of hip hop culture.

Either way, hip hop music is in a sad state right now and needs a "king" to take everything in a different direction.

Pharell and that other cat from Cincy or Chi are the only two folks that are really showing that style of life. I can't see that skateboarding is a part of hip hop. Later, QD.

I could fuck this whole thread up by reminding everyone that Nelly had a country music star in his video. Hmmmm

    Nah, better not do that.

Not liking someone doesn't make you a hater. I can't stand any of the crap that is coming from any coast in hip hop right now. Rap has turned to shit. A few select undergorund artists still have it, but for the most part...old school all the way. Later, QD.
