As a group, yes. But if you don't count group, then no. BUt this is a group discussion.

Not something I'd use to elevate their "status" as legends. They are legends without that crap.

Wrong on that charge, skipper. NWA started all the gangster, say what they want-when they want-how they want-where they want rap style. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are still influencing, in a major way, rap. Lasting a long time doesn't make an impact. It shows a lot of character and a willingness to probably overcome hardships within the group(unlike NWA), but that doesn't define them as more of an impact to rap. Rolling Stone magazine ranks NWA as 83rd in the top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Every artist in NWA went platinum in their own careers also. They are also known as the group who caused the revolutionary style. That's just what's up. \

I will say they are probably second because I didn't know they had been around that long. That does say a lot. I'd definitely put them as a second place contender. Outkast isn't nor is Wu-Tang.

1. NWA
2. 666 Mafia
3. Grandmaster Flash
4. Outkast
5. Wu-Tang

Later, QD.
