Well heres the thing, if Schaub stuck around another year we would lose him anyway and get nothing. They are not going to get rid of Vick with such a big contract. Schaub said himself that he wants to be the #1 quarterback and if that did not happen here he would go elsewhere.

And I correct myself, his contract is 6 years $48 million not $38 million.

I think I have agreed with everything you have said in this thread. I think this was a smart move by the falcons to get more draft picks to help fill some holes. That along with the acquisition of Joe horn and the FB from the Ravens(can't remember his name) I think the falcons have a good chance this year(Although I thought that last year as well). I don't understand why people are so reluctant to see Shaub go. He's only started one game, I really don't think that he can do anything Shockley can't do as the back-up.

Agreed!! Besides, after seeing DJ Shockley in the preseason games, he can hold his own. I think the team will be just fine with Schaub. However, it saddens me to see this move because that means the team is standing behind Vick, and I feel vick just brings the team down on many level, attitude being a major one.

I think the next few years are going to show what Vick is really made of as QB. He was so sheltered in Mora Jr.'s offense it's hard to say that he was at fault for their shortcomings. Not to mention I'm sure it was frustrating being a QB and NOT being aloud to Audible!!! I think Patrino's offense will suit Vick much better than Mora's West Coast BS.

Although i hate to see shaub go, i do think the trade was better for EVERYONE. Texans get a better QB, schaub gets to start, Makes more moeny, and the falcons get more well rounded.

I hate how people still believe that the falcons "losing" season was all vick fault when there were so many holes in the falcons offense and defense. ESPN Fantasy Football had Vick rank in the top 5 QB. That tells you he had a pretty "decent" season. Anyways, fuck the past! However, I have to say this also. I am so tired of people saying the only reason Vick is doing so badly is because of Jim Mora. One person, Jim Mora, can not be blammed for the poor performance of an NFL QB. An all-round player should be able to adjust to whatever offense. Jim Mora did not force Vick to throw a middle finger in the air either. That just shows Vicks character, or lack there of. poor performance??? look a few post up and I typed he was in the top 5 (of QBs) in scoring for ESPN FF most of the season (to get points there he must of been doing something right). He set a rushing record this year (and dont give me this QB shouldnt run BS). He had a game where he threw 4tds in a losing effort. Performance my ass. I can tell you dont watch football, because if you did then you would of saw about 15-20 drop TD passes from Falcons WRs this past season. Then when he was trying his hardest to win, and his offense wasnt helping, but the crowd is booing him. Luckily it was Vick and not me cuz I would of showed atlanta my ass (how bout my dick and told them to suck it) rather then fick them off! They will make the playoffs as a wildcard but they will lose the first playoff game(and the only reason they will make it is because that are in the nfc). and even with them moving up a couple of spots in the first round they are still planning on taking the same prospect they wanted at the #10 spot Lundry(sp?) the safety from LSU. If i were the falcons i would try to draft the WR from south carolina Rice, to me is the second best wide out behind the freak calvin johnson.
