The Falcons picked up Norwood and Jimmy Williams last year.. I'd hardly call those wasted picks. Oh yeah we swung a deal to get Abraham with one of those picks and STILL got who we wanted. Rich Mckay is far from stupid, he was the GM in Tampa Bay when they put together that Superbowl team. And again he got 2 spots in the first round and TWO second round draft picks for a backup QB that has not won a game and has thrown 6 touchdowns and 6 intereceptions... I think the Falcons know what they're doing.

I seriously question if some of you are reading before you post up. We need defensive players and we have two draft picks to make it happen.. it doesn't take a genius.

The Falcons can put points up on the board, the problem is keeping the other team out of the game. We have a SERIOUS issue at safety and cornerback that needs to be addressed. They cannot cover and they cannot tackle, we need someone like Troy Polamalu that can not only cover in the secondary but also blitz and put pressure on the quarterback if need be. If you get a good linebacker you make it easier for the secondary, get a good secondary and the falcons will be a serious team.

Remember that Carolina game early in the year when Jake Delhome just got completely frustrated because every time he stepped back he was looking at a defensive lineman? Everything came together, the offense had good field position to work with, the receivers and Vick were motivated.. the run game was just awesome. A strong defense does so much more than just keep the other team out of the end zone and that is what we need to focus on. We have one of the most productive offenses in the league, get the defense on board and we are sure to get into the playoffs.

Like Vick we are stuck with our receivers, we went out and got Joe Horn and I think that was more about the development of our young receivers rather than Joe making a difference on the field.

^^^just like u, i recall the game against the saints this yr when his current receivers dropped no less than 3 absolutely catchable balls....but whatever, i don't care, the worse the falcons are the better for the bucs and the saints

Crumpler dropped one of those passes which was in the end zone.. I mean who do you blame on that one? Vick or the receivers? Should we get rid of Alge? No..

I'll take it one step further, put Vick on the bears team of 06-07, think they still would have made it to the superbowl? Remember he's replacing Rex Grossman who was a guaranteed 2 or 3 interception a game quarterback.

alge drops 1 in 10, his other receivers drop about 5 out of 10....what do you think?

depends, don't forget that grossman was about as jekyl&hyde of a qb as you could've found last season. his solid qb play through the first 6-8 games of the season is what got them rolling, even if he did crumble late season.

Rex had about 3 or 4 true solid games, after that the defense saved his butt more times than others.

The Falcons game you're talking about against N.O.. the falcons were demoralized in that game... why? N.O was the first team to figure out the spread option that Atlanta was using, the same offense Texas used with Vince Young if you remember. NOBODY in the NFL uses it and the Falcons figured out why that game, defensive linemen run 4.4-4.6 40's in the NFL. Every time Vick dropped back he was sacked or ran out of the pocket which forced him to make dumb decisions. Receivers are used to running their routes and getting the ball but the way the offense was executed and shut down it took the offense out of the game. We did not score one touchdown that game.

That type of offense is real pretty when it works but dangerous when it doesn't and that is what happened. Not to mention N.O had momentum, first game back in the dome.. huge spotlight and they come out scoring off of a blocked kick.

The logic is simple, vick wants more money, falcons will give it to him = No Money for quality wr's that vick needs which also = a not so good defense. And i don't know too much about alge's contract but if he is vick only target for the next few season and he continues to put up monster stats he is going to want Tony Gonzales(sp?) money which the falcon can't give so yea. pz
