Patrick Kerney: 'An Assault Took Place in My Home'

Seahawks defensive end Patrick Kerney says the woman who says she was sexually assaulted in his home is a friend of his, and that he knows the assault took place:
"I am aware that, while I was asleep on Sunday morning, an assault took place in my home," Kerney said in a statement released by the Seahawks. "Out of respect for my friend who was assaulted, and the police officers who are diligently working to apprehend the offenders, I cannot comment any further. My focus is on supporting my friend during this time of need."
Details are still sketchy, but the woman, who was staying with Kerney, apparently met the suspect at a bar and brought him and a group of others to Kerney's home. The woman told police she fell asleep on a sofa, then woke up in a bedroom and found the suspect having intercourse with her.
From all accounts, Kerney did nothing wrong in this case, and is helping the police investigate.
