Without a smart ass remark, I will have to say that, right now, no one. I still like the old school folks. Quik, Melle Mel, Ice Cube. There are quite a few WC folks that I listen to, but they aren't up in the biz so you probably wouldn't have heard of them. All these mainstream, Britney Spears rappers are just (pardon me for going back to the 80's) wack. Later, QD.TI is the only person from the South that I could listen to. I'm from NY but i got respect for every area of rap in the US.

SPM is raw man, He comes mad lyrically on certain songs i did buy his first couple of albums but there were later jacked from me from my mexican homies......

when you say quality what do you mean? production? lyrics? album content?

I mean i can admit rap may be on the decline but thats really all in the ears of the listener. in the past decade there have been different genres to take over some good some bad but no matter what it's alot harder to be original now then it was 10 years ago

That's what's up right there. There isn't anything to be original about now. Just about every base has been covered many times over. I guess that, besides today's sounds, is why I don't really like it. If I do hear a delivery that is good, I'll listen. I'm just an old school fool. Can't hate on me for that. I don't hate on anyone for their opinions, I just like to put in my opinion.

BTW, Grandmaster Melle Mel just released a new album. For the most part, I like it. Several good tracks on it. Later, QD.

ATL doesn't own rap right now. A few years ago, they were the only mainstreamers putting anything out, but, right now, no one really has it. No one i sreally putting anything out. Just a few here and there from all areas. Later, QD.
