Batlgrounds Supra isnt running anymore. an i doubt they would put an $80000 race car up against AAPs 80-100k race car. Ask dan howm uch time an effort he has in his 8 second supra. Im sure he cant put a price on R&D
Us vs Mahdavi, sure, why not. but i highly doubt either of us would put up our race cars for some TV publicity. its just not worth it. Ask Sam how long they have had an built that Supra, im sure hes got a lot of time an effort in it. and that car wins races for him and brings his shop business. why would he risk throwing it away to win someone elses car that prob wont be worth as much as their car.
Thats why you dont see imports on PINKS. it takes a BIG BANKROLL and alot of guts to race titles, and thats why you see alot of domestics. they are FAR cheaper to run than imports and much faster. You can have a $5000 in a fox body mustang that runs 10s. Show me a 10 second supra that is worth what a 10 second mustang or camaro is worth.
The only way to do imports on pinks is to do what full-race did, build a car worth losing. A sohc turbo D series in a shell that was a theft recovery. they had maybe $5000 in that car an it ran 10s.
I cant speak for Batlground, AAP, Mahdavi, but im 100% positive we dont have $20,000 laying around to throw at a pink competition. I could probably build a sohc turbo CRX to compete, but thats it. i wouldnt risk my 2JZ 240sx , and im sure its worth FAR less than Mahdavis RHD Supra, so he would have nothing to gain.
ANd sam runs mid 9s, none of our 2JZ 240s are that fast.
and lastly, i dont have any beef with sam, so i dont see the "put your money where your mouth is " comment came from.
We plan to organize another battle of the shops this year, so we will see what happens.
