Comp help?

My computer is running with a wireless usb off of comcast wireless, we have a linksys router and it has multiple cat5 ports, if I unhook my wireless and hook in my cat 5 directly to my computer and the router should it automatically give me the internet? The wireless is shitty and drops out alot so it's not worth it when I'm trying to email important shit for class or so on. Do I need a router for this computer seperately?

As long as the router is configured correctly you should be able to connect the ethernet cable directly to your computer from the router. Just make sure that the ethernet port on your computer is enabled. If you have any questions, just PM me.
