Default So i just watched MIAMI VICE

Despite all the negative things i have heard about it, i bought it on demand tonight.

i have to say i thought it was a very good movie. A little slow at times, and you have to pay attention to it, but i liked the gritty grimy feel of it.

Mann did a great job, this was nowhere near as good as HEAT, but it was shot kinda the same way. music was good, action was good, good storyline, etc.

anyone else agree wiht me, or am i the only one that liked this movie?

I thought it was good, but like you said, some parts were super slow and they did seem to drag the movie out a bit...it did get to a point where you were just like shit man end this already...but overall I don't think it was a terrible movie...it was pretty good

The movie was forgettable.. meaning it could have been called any other name or title and it would have been forgotten in a couple of months.... just didn't have the classic Miami Vice "feel" to it. So it turns out to be just another "action" movie.

I mean where were the shots of South Beach? Downtown? Bayside? Grove?

It could have very well been filmed in L.A. and people wouldn't know any better.

Lots of "Vice" but, not a lot of "Miami".......

Even the first Bad Boys had more true Miami shots and the lifestyle in it.....

Action is good though. And it sounds amazing.

seems like movies these days have to have some type of explosive action, slapstick, or gore, to keep peoples attention. It goes the same for "The Good Shepherd". I liked The Good Shepherd, but so many were like.... man it was soooo boring, it was sooooo slow.

Not everybody likes to think anymore. Just throw wild special effects, half-naked chicks, fast cars, big guns and a half-assed story line and you'll get alot more attention.

But there are a select few who still like to watch an intelligent movie. I liked Miami Vice. Dont get me wrong... I love action, comedy and all that, but those arent the only good movies out there.

I don't think Miami Vice categorizes as an 'intelligent' movie. Want an intelligent movie, watch "Heat". Now that's a masterpiece.
