son of a bitch my civic just broke down on me. I just walked 2.5miles back home.

It just died out of nowhere and I had no tools so I just rolled it off the road and walked away.

Did take some pics of it before it crapped out on me.

well my car is still sitting on the side of the road... Fuel pump is working and I have press. No spark with 2 distributors and I'm getting a code 8 CEL (TDC senser) I don't have to cash to get it towed home and I don't have the cash for a new distributor. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm hoping my friend will let me barrow his z6 distributor tomorrow so I can see if it will start and drive it home.

This sucks!!!

How did you test to see if you had spark? and how did you test to see if you had...uummm I'm gonna take it that press is for compression

stuck a new spark plug in the wire grounded the threads on the valve cover and a friend tried to start the car. No spark but I think the code 8 means the distributor is no good.

Fuel pressure is good. Haven't done a compression test. the car was running fine and just cut off.

I gave up on it for tonight and will start working on it in the morning. I got a friend of a friend that has a tow truck to come get it tomorrow for free if I can't get it to start. So hopefully I'll get it started or get it home to work on it some more.

It died about 2.5 miles from my house witch is a good thing because I was going to oakwood tonight.

You may can get away with just replacing the coil and rotor or cap on the dizzy. As far as spark., gottcha

Well I found out why my cars not starting...

Its a lot worse than just a bad distributor. I was turning the motor over to get to the rotor screw and it wouldn't turn so I wired the + on the battery to the starter and watched it turn over. The cam gear is moving but the cam is not moving.

So ether the cam gear/key is striped or my cam broke... Now I'm waiting on a phone call from a friend so I can drag it home to take it apart.

It would of been better, if you had the tools, I don't know if you did at that point, but to just pull the dizzy off and do as so, but yea if you're saying that Cam Gear is moving and Cam isn't [I'm trying to figure out how you see that lol] then yea the key comes to mind. Now it's time to think of the worst and pray that it isn't so bad. I'm thinking hopefully nothing bad happened internally like that valves missing a beat and not giving you compression. If you weren't so damn far out lol I wouldn't mind lending a hand Mike
