okay you guys are really smart...so I have a question. I have a 00 Civic Lx & its an automatic...however I do want to make it faster..It has 126K on it right now and in the 3 yrs since I've bought it I put 72k of those miles on there...so neways since I'm averaging 24K a yr in mileage (will be more this yr due to I will be going to these pleasant hill meets & car shows since I will be showing this year as well)...OKAY HERE IS THE QUESTION!!! I want to make the Honder faster...yanno Turbo, the whole intercooler ****, etc. I think intercoolers are sexy btw. Anyways, I heard I have to change that engine 1st, so whats a good motor to use? I'm not trying to race, just want to have a fsat(er) automatic. I honestly just really want the turbo/intercooler setup...neways should I just change the ****** to a 5sp? you guys input would really help....

You could just add a turbo kit and that would be a cheaper way to go...
Or you could swap a Y8 that came in the Civic Ex and make it a 5 speed... VTEC FTW, if your money is low just slap a turbo kit get it tuned and you will be fine.

but would the turbo blow my engine with it already being at 126k miles? I heard that wasn't the smart way to go....My money is kinda low plus I dont want to spend a lot of money trying to make fast an automatic...

No, you wont blow the engine at all low boost at 8 pounds all day. Some people
blow theirs bc they over boost. Like I said get it tuned and you will be fine.
ah man thnx. so best place to get it is ebay? is there any particular brand that i should use...i know NOTHING as all about turbos which is something I should research asap...so along with the tubro/intercooler..is there anything else i should get performance wise?

I knew a guy that had an auto booted civic, daily driver and didnt mess **** up (he really didnt give the car hell)... if our looking for mad power you're not going to get it from a SOHC-T.. go for a D16y8 if you gotta go SOHC

You can get a kit with every thing with a good turbo kit.. fittings, lines, down pipe, wast gate, BOV, intercooler, intercooling piping, injectors, fuel pump, manifold...
Yeah I just found one that has t3/t4 turbo charger, stainless steel manifold, intercooler & piping, down pipe, wastegate, bov & boost controller. running me abt $700 on ebay.

they tend to be built vary cheap and the seals usally blow quickly on them. But I know people that have run them with no problems. I myself will probley buy a kit off ebay if I cant find a good namebrand turbo for a good price. I'll run the ebay turbo untill it starts to go then ether upgrade or have it rebuilt with good parts.
