mainstream is not a cheap a jay makes it sound. i asked them wat they would charge me to do a weld-in 6pt. with door bars thats SCCA/NASA certified. they told me $2,600. which is not that bad... it's a little high but not too bad.
i called this place in marrietta that specializes in buiding rollcages for SCCA/NASA, they quoted me $1,800 for labor & $300 for materials out the door. for the same style cage. im not bashing mainstream cuz i've seen Turbo Daves work in-person and it's great craftsmanship, but im just letting u know there are better deals out there.
if ur not going to be compeating in drag or road racing i would suggest u get the cusco bolt-in cage if ur just going for looks. but it's not the best cage for safty purposes. the bolt-in i have was build for competition and safty by the pervious owner and his dad who has been a metal fabricator for over 35+ years.
im a ricer i just want a bolt in for looks now. later i do a cert. cageOriginally Posted by 00CelicaGT

lol everyone has some ricer in them
An improperly designed/installed cage is more dangerous than not having one.. dont risk your life over trying to look cool. Id much rather have the satisfaction of knowing that a cage in my car would actually protect me in a rollover.Originally Posted by CBEeng.

Just time consuming mainly
I did my headlight tuck in about 3 hours tops and another few getting everything situated inside the car for my tuck. For my power cables I have a Ground Plate, that I screwed to the bottom of my heater box and now bolt those to.
Fuse box, mounted kind of behind the fan box.
Map sensor assembly, is mounted to the box beside the distribution plate.
Well it was then I started tearing it apart again lol.
