Hey just figure I'd make a "odd" thread

I'll start.

It was early December 2001 I had been wanting a 88-91 crx so bad.I finally picked up a Auto-trader from my local gas station after school and noticed a 1989 crx dx for $300 obo.It was located right above Atlanta and I being about 3 1/2 hours away still wanted it.
For 2 weeks I helped a friends mother out by tearing apart her brick patio for some money after school and sold one of my Fender acoustic/elec guitars.I finally had enough money a pal and I took the trip with his father up there and we took a trailor just in case.The seller must have forgot to mention on the phone and in the ad it had been sitting for over a year and had been SALVAGED from a rear end collision.So we talked him down to $200 cash and it was not the cleanest car and only needed a fuel pump and ran like a champ.We also bought a 1991 civic dx hatch shell and swapped the engine into it along with most interior items and sold the shell to the junkyard and parts locally.
I had gotten my money back and had me a running EF started as a crx dx but had to move over to the hatch's.The bad thing about it was the car was in the middle of a horse field and had dead mice in it and horse hair all over it and alittle bit of poop* hahaahahhaaa!.

Either way that is my odd story thought I got jacked but turned out being worth the trip anyways I loved that little hatcha.

Anyone else have some crazy stories?.

*EDIT*: Sorry everyone for the cheesy thread,I lost someone in my family recently and am just trying to get my mind off things.

There was this one time, some guy in a b16 powered crx was talking shit to a guy in a ZC hatch. Guy in the ZC ended up owning the B16. Was pretty funny. Wonder whatever happened to that guy.

i'm comming back, hopfully for the varsity meet nov. 6th, but for sure will be here on the 7th, owning b series hatch's all across metro atlanta

What's done to the ZC? or do you just have incredible driving skills?

first one i had was a 91 rex si...i was buying it from a friend of mine and he said take it out for a week, if you like it then we will go through with the sale. the guy was my best friend so i knew i wouldnt be screwed. so i drove around for a while that weekend, thinking hell this thing is getting 50+ mpg...as i was riding through gainesville the thing just cut out on me and im like wtf? so i make that phone call that no one wants to make and told him man your car just cut out it wont start nothing! he said one thing to me on that phone....."have you put gas in it??" needless to say the sending unit(needle stuck with 1/3 tank remaining) was f*cked up! it only got 36 mpg after that!

Man I think that zc is fully built with wiseco pistons,Skunk2 prototype cams,Hytech not replica header,Hondata chipped and tuned,

Or The b16 driver just wasnt too good and his motor needs a rebuild.I believe he had a b16 tranny also

the b16 wasn't 100%, thats for damn sure.

It is a great story I'd share that with everyone.Pretty awesome if you ask me wish I could have beat b16 hatch's with mine.

lol it wasn't a fair win. i mean, yea, woo a zc beat a b16, but the b16 wasn't 100%, so it's not really fair. we didn't do it for bragging rights, we just did it for shits and giggles. lol but it is a funny story to tell.

hopefully by this summer, i'll be bale to say i can beat a b16, legit. just depends on how the funds are after this next semester

lol alright, i'm gonna straighten the record here...

his car, wasn't 100%, OBVIOUSLY. i dont know exactly what was wrong with his b16, but it wasn't 100%, thats for damn sure, and we both knew it.

lol i might brag about that race, but i always tell it like it is, and say that the b16 was hurtin. and thats a fact, cause i got 0 points in the drive mod section, lol. if we ever go to the drag strip, lol you'll see

1991 LX sedan
5 spd, clutch was slipping even in 5th gear at 1/2 throttle
bought for 600$ and it smoked like hell!
pulled my fully built turbo h22 out of my accord
called explicit speed performance and bought mounts, track bar set-up, cable to hydro clutch conv, and alt relocation bracket
got motor in car, got hood to clear motor without cutting trimming etc
stripped the inside, did a harness tuck on both motor and chassis
got the wife prego and sold it for 1/3 of what i had in it...pics below...
wish i would have kept it but...think i did the right thing, swap was surprisingly not that hard to do IMO...

well my first ef was a 91 dx hatchback and it had no front bumper, the motor mounts were loose, the motor also had some strange pull to it (dohc zc) and when i used the brakes it would rattle the steering wheel and vibrate the whole car.....payed 2k for it..it was in autotrader for a while and thought it was worth 10k cause i didnt know what the hell i was lookin for so i bought it....the woman told me he had the extra pieces from the strip down for to be put back together....well when the kid did the swap he didnt use the right wire harness for the lights..had to redo...tailight wires where cut... i fixed.and it had tucked some 17s which were white.............after about 3 months of fixing cleaning and about 20 bucks later..lol....all it needed was injector cleaner and motor mounts tightined up....ran like a champ then.....so i went i put new tires on it and they said 500 bucks for a alignment cause somethin was fuked up and i said the hell with that and traded it for a DA.........end of story........then i sold the da and bought the JDM b16a SI 91 ef in the sig and all it needs is a motor mount (dam motor mounts) then exhuast and chip and i want to race 90_zc hatch!!!!! to prove b16 has power and the other guy sucked at driving and need some work done to his car

**edit** i really traded the first ef for a da because my i got my girlfriend pregnant and they said i needed somethin bigger...which i was fine with stickin the car seat back and forth around the seats..lol as long as its the ef and not a pinto

... if you read my threads, i dont bash b16's what so ever. if any of my posts even come across that way, it's a complete joke....i said twice in this thread alone, that it was NOT a fair race. and if you've seen other posts about said race, i either joke around about it, or i'm saying how his b16 was messed up.

lol so dont try to come @ me like i'm some kinda zx fan boy, b16 bashin kid. because i know whats up. only reason i like the zc, is because MONEY for MONEY, you can get more hp out of a zc. your swap costs $2000-$2500 to fully put in your car, where as a zc can be had for $1000 or less. and if you spend another $1000-$1,500 on a zc, to even the spending cost as a stock b16, you'd defanitly be faster

trust me, my dad's got a b16 in a hatch, and even when it was stock it would walk me. now that it's not stock, it walks me without problem.

my odd story would be umm found my ef at a buy here pay here lot for 800 bucks with 1k on the side of it in that neon crap they use to put the prices on it went to the atm took out 800 salesman still talking this ol its a classic crap took out the 800 and walked away with the keys 6 or 7 months later i get swept into the b series swap tanabe catback blah blah blah goes on and on lol for what was supposed to be a stock DD ended up being my swapped DD but never the less the integra has my attention once again
