What do you want to have done to your car by the end of the year?
I want to have my new wheels and suspension on by next Friday. Lol
End of the year? Depending on if I sell the wagon I just traded for I will have a swap and paint.
What about you dare?

The problem with the hatch is the damn hole in the roof. I want to swap the skin out, but I dont have the resources to do it. So, I got to outsource (and this suppose to be a budget build). I could replace glass of the sunroof, but it's going to be hard to match up since the original supplier is no longer. Last, I could somehow make a CF plug for it. I'm going to look into this more![]()
Motor wise, the hatch has a blown head gasket (easy fix). So I'm just got to replace it with the d15b2 that JDMJAYDC2 gave me. I want to rebuild it 1st for boost. The only problem i'm going to run into is rods. There's only one aftermarket rod (crower rods) for the d15b2 and it's high as hell. I want FJT rods (best ban for the buck) but they only offer them for the 1.6L (or d15b) and that sux! FJT say its going to be a few months before they produces them. So I can rebuild the bottom end and keep the stock rod (which would be stupid since thats weak link) or wait (which I dont want to do).
Option 2 is all motor
I dont want to go all motor with a d15b2, but I may. I could throw some zc piston in the bottom end and slap a z6 head on it (I got the head for free from a friend). It should be quicker then a d15b/z6/y8, but I want boost in the DD.
Option 3 is fuk it
Throw the motor in and say **** it.
Hopefully FJT comes through with the rods soon! Everything else for the rebuild its cheap as hell. I can rebuild the bottom end for less than $200 (with new pistons).
Nice, you're setting your goals out right. I don't have many alternatives, mostly an idea lol.
I got the email saying my suspension was shipped today so hoping I get it before Wed I will be able to get it on. My rims are in the machine shop currently and I should have those Friday. I'm going Sunday to look at a set of tires to buy. So, the swap and paint isn't set in motion just yet. I traded the gray wagon I bought for an auto in good shape so my girl can drive it easier (broken wrist). Once she collects from her lawsuit she will buy something else and then I'll sell it for about $1500 or so and use all that for a ls setup. Whatever I have left I can put into getting the car painted with matched bumpers. Front and rear lip, and maybe some fender blinker lights.![]()

My goals:
My 89 civic si.
1. To finish getting the motor in (free B16)
2. wire it

5. rear disk swap

88 honda crx si
1. like to do a jdm roof conversion
2. engine swap

4. not sure all depends on the 89 hatch.
Right now we are debating about downsizing cars since I have 3 running and 2 non running so it is all up in the air.
Back to massive thoughts of suppose to be a professional and look like one, not riding around in a crx with 321k and no ac.
finish my damn ls vtec and paint it
oh yea, my pops plans on putting the type R intake manifold and throttle body on here soon to match the Type R cams. He also plans on converting it to obd1 and figuring out a way for it to pass emissions!!!!
... and my plans for that hatch is for him to loose the ricer lights![]()
- Break into 12s in the 1/4.
- Upgrade to bigger front brakes, I'll keep my rear drums
- KSport Full Coilovers
i have a very serious question or all you EFfers. why the hell would you WANT to keep a SOHC? if you have the money to actually build a fast one, you probably have money for a LS or even a GSR swap, so why not? im not trying to bash, but i raced a <70k mile jdm d15 vtec in a EG hatch with i/h/e and raped with my 190k mile 1.6 with i/h/e.
once again, im not trying to sound like a ****, but why build a weak motor into a strong one when you can just buy a strong one and make it even stronger?
(wow i sound like a domestic v8 owner...)
It's just a matter of what someone wants out of their car. Whether it be speed, looks, ''wow'' factor. Say someone wants more power than a d15b2 but doesn't want the gas mileage of a b18c. Why not put in the d16z6 or the like? Great gas mileage and a little more pep. Just an example, but it just comes down to what someone wants over what is fastest/cleanest/different. Also, you can't really compare an eg to an ef. EFs tend to be quicker with the same swaps due to being lighter.
idk, i guess im just REALLY against single cam motors. lol. i even hate pushrods.
I am busy with a couple of projects at the moment, the largest of which is my full suspension rebuild. Whenever my backordered Ground Control upper mounts get here, the new Konis and GCs will go in. Skunk2 front upper arms recently arrived as did Ingalls rear upper arms and SPC compensator arms. Front knuckles and axles have already been redone. After that I'll just need trailing arm bushings and possibly rear wheel bearings, but they're in pretty good shape so I'm not sure. Oh and a traction bar. All of that will be done this summer.
I've recently started datalogging so I can fine-tune my map, but the information will actually be used to help in my transition from Crome to Neptune. That will be done this fall. I will be picking up a Neptune Tunerview as well.
Also this fall I plan to rebuild my transmission with a Quaife and an LS 5th, currently I'm undecided on what final drive to use.
Then there's some minor detail parts I'll pick up along the way, like new rear hatch struts probably before winter, new tires, some NRG hood dampers, CTR crank pulley, maybe a bling bling spark plug cover.
I'm also considering a CF hood and having my front bumper shaved (remove the license plate mounts). I think that's all I'll get done in the rest of 2008. 2009 - Dart build?

dude that is sick! , but i'm gonna go first gen
A J35 doesn't fit in a 1g Ody. They're based on the 5g Accord, so you may be able to fit that Accord's optional V6 (C27) but of course I don't know for sure. Actually, if a C27 would fit, you could maybe use a C35 from a 99-2004 RL.
Otherwise, H22 that *****.

Crazy huh Idk tho ,I guess same reason why VTEC guys say why Do nonvtec.Cuz they just feel like it and maybe wanna prove somthing.

Realistically, by the end of the year I hope to have my new engine sitting on a stand, fully dissasembled. From then...i'll build it up piece by piece as finances allow.
Basically When its done....rediculousness
Aside from that...
~drop some more weight (coming soon)
~new hatch (might or might not happen)
~I'm trying to fabricate a unique set of headlights..(that project is still in phase 1) Hopefully that'll be done by the end of the year
~Likewise with tail light led boards for better visibility through the blacked out tails
~beefier sway bars
~strut bars (maybe. I'm havin a hard time justifying spending the kind of money theyre asking for the ones I want)
~exhaust tweak. Minor changes.
~once I finish all of that...maybe new paint...maybe![]()
"You mean we can never catch up to him, not even if we rub the engine with cheetah blood?"
i would like to have my built d16 in my car all wired up and tuned for spray, just need a blown/used motor to pull various parts from, goin for 300whp on spray and 150-160whp NA, motor is fully built, got a z6 head being built now with springs,valves,retainers,5 angle valve job, port and polish, my machine guy i use removed 7lbs worth of metal porting and polishing the head alone!
