Well again, re read what i said.

UNLESS its the GSR YS1 tranny, the cable transmissions arent even close to the hydros.

The difference between the YS1 GSR (not all YS1 is gsr FYI) and a B16 hydro transmission is so miniscual its not even worth debating.

Go find me a B16 hydro trans, they are everywhere. Find a YS1 GSR tranny, good luck, and if you find one, its $700-1000. I know, ive owned 10 CRXs. ive had both.

The hydro is a more durable transmission compared to the Cable trannys. They just last longer, and are newer etc.

Im sorry, but my points about the parts interchanging, clutches, ease to locate etc are what make me choose the hydro tranny over the cable.

Hydro tranny feels better too, easier to shift. Cable trannys are squishy. Hydro is crisp.

YOu can disagree, thats fine, its just my opinion since ive owned every tranny.

PS: Your assuming the gearsets in both trannys are the same and everything is identical, when in fact they arent so your arguement is kinda skewed

I think he meant that IF they were the same, what would be the ups of one over the other. Sort of, for arguments sake, lets assume, kinda thing.

However...valid points one way and the other have been made...but I'm not seeing gains toward either side.
IF, for instance, I was to be in teh market for a B16 swap into my rex, money being somewhat of an issue, but not a severe one, what would be the best choice? A full hudro conversion? A hydro kit? (what about hasports kit is so crappy, by the way?) Just stick with cable tranny and spend the extra on the Ys1?
