Default NEED ASAP! Hatchback RF door...

Ladies and gents, I'm in need of a driver's side door. I've got two doors up here at the shop, but looking at the effort that will be put into them to make them **perfect** is going to take some hours. Both doors are good...and are well functional...but for my project, I'm trying to get a dent-free scratch-free paint-run-free perfected outcome. I can do it with these doors...but damn if I wouldn't mind saving some time in labor...

So if anyone's got a hatchback door (I don't think the year matters, but if it does, mine's a 91) I would be greatly appreciative and interested...

You need the passenger one too?

And I'm sure You know the '88-'89 and '90-'91 are Different right?
Because of the whole seatbelt thing.

If it will work I'm all the way down in Henry Co. about 10 mins. from Summit Racing.

Sorry, my bad. Don't need a passenger side.

Forgot about the seat belt ****...damn...

So you've got the pillar-mounted seat belts in it, huh?

Is there any way you can send me a picture of that door...just in the inner frame part? Where a door-mounted belt would mount?

No Bro Mine DO NOT have Pillar-mounted seat belts.
So if Your car is a '88-'89 they will work just fine
If it's a '90-'91 then just get both of them so they both look the same.

Wait...if yours are door mounted...what's the difference in the seat belts?

    Mine's a 91. Both of them.

OK Your Seatbelts like all '90-'91 seatbelts mount to the door BUT!!!

The '88-'89 mount behind the door on the body itself so if You get just the D/S door and
You keep Your P/S door then they will like totally different.

So thats why I said that about getting both of them so they match.

Alright, yeah, I thought those were called "piller mounted".

My bad. Yeah, I know what you're talking about, then.

Problem is when I had a CRx, I did take a look at the difference in the two and how to change them over, and it's NOT any easy process. So I'm probably gonna pass on that and wait for another opportunity...

    Hmm,

I think I may be misunderstanding what you guys are saying....BUT...it sounds like:

Ben needs a door for his 91 hatch, which does not have door mounted belts. RIght?

OK. Spoon has doors for a different year, and they also do not have door mounted seat belts.
    So,
THe only issue should be whether or not the doors actually fit, since they are for diferent year hatch.
    AND
Spoon has both driver and passenger side doors in good shape, meaning that if Ben takes both, they will look the same, even if there are slight differences between the year models (assuming, of course, that they fit)

So...whats the problem? Ben, you found yourself some doors. Grats.

    ...you are wrong.

    My doors have door-mounted.

His doors are from a car that's pillar-mounted.

It's a pain in the ass to make a door-mounted car BECOME a pillar mounted.

Yes, he has both...but...read line above.

And I'm wanting to keep my car...uh...let's pretend "numbers matching" would actually make sense (as far as body goes...for the most part...)

    So now who's the ass...

Note the red. not pillar mounted, means door mounted. Right? Or am I still missing something? (It's been one of those days, so I'm not putting it past myself to STILL not comprehend 100%)

I'm trying my best to come to the holiday meet. I havent had the time to read the rediculously long thread, though.

    Also, SPoon,
Give me a call man, I sent you my Number and a few PMs. Where'd ya dissapear to?

Okay, my head hurts from reading all that.

Simply put, '88-'89 doors are the same as each other. '90-'91 doors are the same as each other. '88-'89 doors WILL NOT work on a '90-'91.
