Ben, they are holding a track trials event. It's an SCCA time trial event.
I'm not sure if the event is going to happen, though. A tornado hit the track last weekend, and there was a lot of damage to the facilities.
peanut butter ftw!

I really don't know, but have heard reports of trees down, the spectator stand across from start/finish being demolished, part of the timing and control tower's roof getting torn off, and the turn 5 corner station gazebo being upside down. No word, though, on damage to the track itself.Quote:

Dang...not good.
Luckily mustangs are EVERYWHERE. So the odds of mine getting broken into are slim. :)
Naw, but seriously...is this getting popular?
Damn Alan! Sorry for your sister's loss! Is insurance going to cover it?
ben, this is extremely commin in gwinnett county. if you have a honda, anything in the 90's rage, then you need to be watching ur shit, because they're all targets.
i'm not sure what all they're going to cover, but they're assessing the dammage and will be giving her an offer soon, but ik it's not gonna be shit.
i'm try to find her a nice GSR or something.
Damn, bro, condolences...
just looked @ pics, they dented every panel on the car, for no reason @ all...
simply rediculous. you can bet i will be investing in security for my hatch in the near future
I know a good guy...
be you have a pm
:2up: Fu(k thieves, damn!t that pisses me off. I would love to walk up onto some guys trying to steal my shit while I have my Glock on me, one in each leg. ;)
Forget the leg. Hit the kneecap. They'll not walk for life unless they have a SH*T ton of cash. But then if they have any witnesses or catch your tag or anything and they trace it to you, they can sue you for using lethal force when it was unnecessary because they were not. SO. Best bet is to shoot them once on the vein in the side of the neck from the front and let it bleed and burn for a minute so they get a chance to think about it. Once they're almost out, put them out of their misery but putting one to the face. However, make sure all shots are from the front, and all shots are while they're at least standing.Quote:

Yeah, I got your message the other morning. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine, who lives in lilburn. His gsr got stolen, engine and tranny ripped out, then dumped. Its pretty common for Honda's. Still, it sucks man. Hey, if you're ever up this way again, I can help you install a hidden kill switch, all my cars got em, saved the teg once.Quote:

Sorry to hear about your sister's car, Alan.
Anyone have an extra sprint phone laying around? I still don't have one, and don't plan on putting money forth to buy one since my sprint plan will be shut off on like November 1st...
i'll be going home on November 6th (might make an appearance to the V meet :D) and hopfully i can put in a fuel cut off switch and a starter cut off switch.Quote:

that doesn't sound right to me...
also, it's 40 for a member and 50 for a non-member. do you get any discounts fr signing up? $50 is steep for a college kid :lmfao:
50 is steep with the economy like it is. 50 for entry. 50 (for you) to drive there and back, plus tires and oil and brakes and mileage on the car...
50 is steep for EVERYONE. I vote college and military get 50 bucks off...
The event this weekend at Roebling is a track trial, tmk. There's another event in November sometime that is an autocross at Roebling. For the auto-x, they use the front straight, kink, T1, T2, and T3, and then reenter the paddock area through and escape road.
Some regions do offer a goofy referral-discount thing for joining the SCCA. And, if you're under 24, you can sign up for the First Gear membership. There is a military discount through SCCA National; it's a $35/year rebate. Details of all this are at http://www.scca.com.
The big word of caution, though, is that, IMO, SCCA's high performance driver's ed. program sucks. PDXes in the SE don't seem to give participants enough track time. So, if you're going to be autocrossing more than tracking, then an SCCA membership makes sense. If you're really wanting to get on track and really stretch the legs of the car, then NASA is better way to go.
NASA membership is cheaper, and with the work for credit program, tracking your car doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg....just an arm or a leg.
i dont want to get on a track and go balls to the walls, because i'd hate to run off the road or anything happen to my car. it's just a DD, and i cant afford to wreck it, which is why auto-x is more appealing, as it seems safer.
so this ins't an auto-x, but a time trial even. is that really what it's going to be, slalom down the straightaway and thats it...? and i damn sure dont want to pay $50 if i'm not going to get 4+ passes behind the drivers seat. lol i'll be damned if i'ma pay sum1 to drive the wheels off my car, and i only get to drive it once or twice. just my 2 cents.
I'm not really sure. The Buccaneer Region web site has thiis weekend's event at Roebling listed as a track trial.
One of our (NASA's) Honda Challenge racers said something about an autocross at Roebling on the NASA forums.
I've tracked my DD for nearly two seasons and haven't had an issue, and I can't afford to ball mine up either. If you drive within your and the car's ability, then there's usually no problems. The tracks we go to typically have plenty of runoff and the only bad incidents have happened when someone does something really stupid.
yea, i drive within my own abilities, but i'd like to tackle a few auto-x events to really push my car, and see what it's got, before i tackle a track environment. it's all about improving that driver mod ;)
