But it's IA and for the people that rock spray painted cars of any color they won't understand and it's not like you can teach stupid anyway. At least this is better than primer so it doesn't absorb moisture but it still looks bad unless you pay somebody to spray it with a hose everytime you are driving it.

Its not like there is a set wrong way to paint a car. Some people just care more about other aspects of their car, and would rather sport a rattle can job if it means they can spend the money that they saved elsewhere in the car.

I think that it looks great considering how much the supplies cost to paint it. And even if he does decide to get a "real" paint job later down the road, the sunk cost spent on the current paint job is so minimal that its more than worth it to rock this over primer paint, even considering the extra prep required to repaint it next time.
