Quick and safe engine detail
I've never liked using armor all or anything on my engine bay due to slipping belts and maybe not so safe on electrical connectors...
WD-40 is the shit, dust off as much as you can that way it does not clump up... Spray the entire bay (metal and all) with WD, let it sit about 5 min then wipe it down. SHIT WILL LOOK AMAZING!!!!

ive always just use GUNK or engine brite you have to becareful with stuff like wd-40 it can turn your hoses brown and brittle in a matter of minutes i sprayed some on a hose trying to spruce up the bay before a local car meet. got to the meet and my hoses were brown. bay looks good tho man
looks good but very flammable! ive always used degreaser on my engine bay.....
WD-40 is a terrible idea. It's good to lubricate your hoses and what not, but it's very greasy and actually looks worse afterwards. No offense or anything man.

Thats even worse. Let that stuff get on the paint, and dry up...and you will regret it!

Man you most be a pro, because with all that paint inside the engine bay! Also its dam near impossible to keep it off the outside paint.
wd-40 is horrible on rubber components.
HORRIBLE idea. What gives it the "clean" look is the 15% mineral oil in it BUT the 50% solvent/mineral spirits in it kills rubber and vinyl by drying it all out even though the mineral oil gives it a shine. Grit and grime sticks to that mineral oil near instantly too.
And before anyone says it...WD-40 is not a lubricant, doesn't work like a lubricant, and was never intended to be used as a lubricant.
The old stuff was "very" flammable when it was made with propane lol...it's been made with carbon dioxide as the propellant instead for a longggg time.

Nahh, if you screw up enough you eventually learn! Hopefully you learn after the first fuck up and if you're lucky you'll figure it out beforehand lol!
I accidentally put ATF in a master cylinder after I rebuilt once (10 years ago)...genius! So I know what mineral oil does to rubber and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what petroleum solvents does to it too.

use tire shine foam.. it works well.

i use brake clean it dries fast after that i use tire shine.
I use Simple Green Motorsports Non-corrosive and finish up with 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I used 3M adhesive remover to clean my whole engine and bay when I got my Civic. Works great and doesnt take much spray. No dry rotting of anykind.
oil is the best thing to use on hoses.

Home Depot and pretty much anywhere else has it.
I haven't tried the APC and Hyper Dressing. My 303/Simple Green has been working well enough for me. There's so little plastic on my engine that I don't even worry about it, though.
