Thanks!
So I started wrapping door panels last night. Since I suck at sewing and don't have a sewing machine anyways I'm debating on spraying the door handles black with satin black Krylon Plastic Fusion then maybe using the soft touch spray over that if i don't like how the Fusion contrasts with the suede...I want the interior blacked out.

But from so many nightmare stories i have hear/read about/ had to fix my customers cars, i dont recommend it too much because it can really cost you a lot if you screw it up for an upholster to fix it for you. Different suedes weight different and even though the "spray can glue" you can buy says it will work for headliners, it never last unless the material is extremely light
If you are going to dye your panels, i will give you a little tip. Go to a paint distrubitor and buy SEM. IT runs about 15 dollars a can to the public. It is the BEST plastic dye on the market
Good tip! I haven't had any problems so far but if I do I have enought fabric left over to do it again. I didn't use the strongest glue possible so there is room for improvement.
I used a light weight synthetic suede and will have $20 invested into the entire car, all panels and ceiling ;)Quote:

The only nightmare I will have is pulling it off and redoing it if I don't like the result

So if you screw it up by trying to take it out and not know how, or if you have to redo it because it starts to sag and the glue pulls chunks out of the headliner (doesn't always happen) then it can rack up a big bill. some plasitc dye will be a nightmare if you dont apply it right and everything starts to chip, and suede can fade if you dont get the right kind of suede. I am a diyer myself, but just want to inform people some things to look out for.
loooks great.. im just looking a perfect color for my interior... their website had a bunch of choice but not what im looking for!
nice jobs, make me want to do mine.
pretty cool idea man
thx but i didnt come up with the idea, i just did it myself ;)
question...when you pulled the old fabric of the headliner..you left the foam on the leadliner and put the suede on top of it right?
no I didn't, i took the time to take that off because I knew the suede would not stay up if I left it. I had a friend leave the entire headliner intact to still have the squishy feel and he said that he read it would hold better then just adding it to the cardboard headliner.
Is this the exact faux suede you ordered?
