Cuz the people that had the car before me, chopped and screwed with my roof and its frame... installed a ghetto-bootleg sunroof in it that actually didnt look too bad...I even thought it was real for the first few months that i owned the car, until i tried fiddling with it, trying to get it to open and finding that it wouldnt open.. so i figured, why not replace it and i ended up trying to put a replacement in from the junkyard and found out that my car doesnt have the holes to bolt it to.LONG STORY SHORT, i ended up having the roof frame custom re-built by a welder, and putting a piece of sheetmetal over the hole where the "sunroof" previously was, and bondo-ing and smoothing it out as good as i could. It looks OK from a distance, but when you get up on it, you can definately tell something's not right, and i said to myself im not even gonna try getting my car painted until i actually go ahead and FIX the roof the right way so it'll be all smooth and secksy when all is said and done and i wont have to paint the car once, replace the roof, and then paint it again. :idb:
And, i went to the junkyard today, they quoted me $58.00 for a sheetmetal roof cut for my car![]()
