Default Anyone want to be slammed?

If you or anyone you know with a DA or EF has some cash laying around and wants nothing more than to set their car on the ground... let me know immediately before I change my mind...

H&R Ultra Low Coil Over part number 50808-1

    http://hrsprings.com/scripts/appguide.php?Mode=Application+Guide&SubMode=Find2& Year=1990&ModelID=206&q=1990%20|%20Honda%20|%20CRX

Asking $800 OBO or will consider trades for other coilovers / possibly a Koni setup.

Here's some pics of the H&R coilovers compared to my previous Type-R spec Ohlins setup (keep in mind that ITR rear struts are shorter than DA struts):

    Not even close to stock:

    After using a jack:

    Test fit of the wheel:

How it sits now (rear at max height and front lowered about 1"):

(In this pic, there is no camber in the rear and -1.5-2.0* in the front)

More pics in the next post... with some camber.

Some pics on my extremely dirty car when I was working on it this weekend. These are just too low for me right now with as much driving as I'm doing. I need something that I can raise an inch or two higher. This is with some negative camber (-2 rear and -4 front). The rear is raised all the way up. As you can see in the pics, it can't be raised any higher since it is the same height when you jack it up off the ground. The front is dropped one inch of it's two inches of adjustment. The coilovers will allow it to be dropped an additional 2 inches in the rear and one in the front. However, I do not see how one could drive it with it being any lower. With the 17's, it only has about 2 inches of ground clearance.

In other words, this is how you get a 4+ inch drop without hitting bump stops... but you may bottom out other things (front upper control arms in particular).

^ and how much cash? I'm really not all that interested in Omni's... or Skunk2... or K-Sport.

I think I have a new set of coilovers lined up, so I really probably need to sell these at this point. They are still on my car though, so I couldn't actually sell them until I have another set unless I'm trading.

True, but at the same time, yours don't do what mine do the way mine do it.

I've officially got a set of Progress Series 1's on the way now. Should have them by the end of the week.
Like this, but not where I got them from:
    http://www.modacar.com/products/Acur...tion+Coil.html

If I like the Progress coilovers on my car, then I will be posting the H&R's more publicly. I will consider offers, but I do have to pay for the Progress.

Extended top hats? There is technically no way to put an extended top hat on these, since they are fully extended at a 4" drop. Those are only used when you have a long strut that you are lowering on. If you were to cut off the excess part of the rod that would be in the extended part and do away with the upper range inside the shock body that you will never be using... you have what you are looking at here. A short strut is the ideal setup for going extra low. My brother's 1st gen actually has a set of Koni Yellows on it that were shortened and revalved. The only bounce associated with these is if you have stock traling arm bushings - they will bind up / tear (I just put a set of Noltec polyester bushings in mine, but any polyurethane one that allows the center pin in the bushing to twist will work as well). It actually rides pretty decent now that I solved that issue... until I hit a bump and the front control arms bottom out on the fenderwell or turn in somewhere and my Full-Race crossmember meets the ground or go over a speed bump and get stuck. All of that kind of stuff happens regardless of the strut - it's all based on ride height.

Well, I now have a set of Progress coilovers... and the H&R's. So, I guess I need to make sure I like the Progress on my car and if I do, sell the H&R's outright.
