Yeah since the drift scene is really getting big, 240s are becoming way more popular than they once were. Just get the Miata. lol

i'm sorry but i just don't get it... anyone can own a civic/240 and make it go fast...

civic = cheapest; everyone and their brother has owned atleast 1 honda (civic, crx, lude, etc)

240 = 3 years ago you could buy them everywhere for pennies now you got people selling turds for thousands so they can make DRIFT cars (i will be glad once this passes)

why don't you look into other cars that may be just as fun... Miata, MR2, Golf, RX7, 510, 3 series, etc.

lol that is so true i bought my first one for $500 now it would go for atleast 3X that. If you can fit in a miata i would get it. It is the most fun IMO.

You do see one up there from time to time. I think they claimed the GT3 class last year at the Nationals, but I don't remember.

Aside from that, the KA24E is a lunky piece of mechanical crap. Even if you did have this craptastic powerplant, why would you stay N/A? After beefing the internals, playing with compression, tuning, and everything else you might (if you're lucky) see 180HP.

True, but id rather run NA if I was going to road race then go turbo. There are some mean SOHC motors out there that are built cheap.

All in all to be NA better value would probably be to build a SR20DE.

Oh, no doubt. Build up a SOHC with the proper internal setup and some ITB's and that monster will scream.

Never seen a really built N/A SR20 in a 240SX. Only in B13 SE-Rs. That would be interesting.

Has anybody mentioned the E30 chassis BMW 325is?

170hp, 170ft. lbs., healthy redline, bulletproof engine, great weight distribution, lots of aftermarket support, clutch type limited slip differential, stock 0-60 and quarter mile of 7.5 and 15.5, respectively, and a hell of a lot more solid car in general than a 240sx. You can find them all day in your price range.

And despite the stigma around BMW, the old ones are NOT expensive to maintain, especially when we have a BMW-only salvage yard like Strictly German so close at hand. Just a thought!

There's always the NASA Spec E30 series too.

Best bang for the buck is 5.0 mustang.

    Period the end

Its good at the strip, its good on the track, and parts are cheap.

im sick of seeing them around and the 16 yr olds who think they have the fastest cars on earth bc it has the mustang name slapped on it when they have the V6 non GT...

not saying it isn't fast by any means, just tired out

1g eclipse/talon is where its at(import carwise). I think its not the mustang name typically, its the 5.0 badge. Cus we all know thats a nice block to start building up. The Svo's aren't too bad either, but rare. Hell, one of my co workers is getting one and wants my car to be his first victim.

although i appreciate the support, u misunderstood

i dont like mustangs bc every 16 yr old kid who fantasizes american muscle bc of listening to their pops tell old stories wants a mustang

i hate the older mustangs, not the 05+ ones they look fuckin sweet, just the older ones i see all over the place. This doesn't apply to those who heavily mod them and i'm sorry that i place you in this category, but i find a lot of joy in showing up Non GT mustangs with kids in their wearing sunglasses and have spikey hair lol :idb:

Alright, who wants some of my old 92 Mustang (non GT). It's mostly stock, and slow, but it will still beat a SC400 (if I'm wearing my sunglasses and spike my hair) .....
