Mobara track day Japan!

OK, so I FINALLY made it to a track day and here is how it broke down
We left at 4:00 AM, got there at 7:00 am.
Signed in at 8:00 adn gt out numbers and cars ready. It was 4 of us that went from yokota, and another guy from yokouska
Anyways, this is my FIRST time EVER on a track for drifting, adn first time EVER really drifting in anythign other than a parking lot.
It was raining, was wet, windows kept fogging up EVEN with the defroster on. Horrible conditions, made learning to transition UBER hard. But i got it down.
At the beginning of the day, i spun out the entire first round. But then i figured out what i was doing wrong, ran everythign through my head sitting in the car, adn then went out the next session. (10 minute sessions each).
I threw it out tryign to go balls to the wall. Spun out a few times, But got some REAL good corners in, and started to learn to connect turns slightly.
to skip the boring part of me learning everything, I ended up Linking almost the ENTIRE track minus linking 2 different turns because i couldnt keep the angle over the straights they were on (im trying to locate an online layout of hte track so you can se what i mean)
Neverthe less best part of it all is!
I got 2nd place in Beginners class in the competition that i didnt even know i was in. THe other guy in the black 180 that was with us got 3rd, and a Nihon-jin placed 1st.
It was held by Team Liar (have no clue who they are)
But enough of the words, heres some pics!
(more at the flickr link at the bottom)

deff gotta love being over there.

water isn't that bad. it's always fun to run all day and not have to change friggin tires all the time
. you can't get the speed or generally as much angle as in the dry, but you can just play all day instead of wrenching.
looks like fun, looking forward to videos.

hell i was on full lock on the turn 10 in 3rd gear entry. i love that track lol
but its hard when its your first day ever on a track trying to link turns together lol

rough draft video is being uploaded on you tube right now, i missed my last 4 runs due to dead battery, so its not all that great, all my very first runs

what kind of alignment do you run? all that hand over hand stuff doesn't work with drifting (unless you just like looking like jackie chan figting evildoers). proper alignment (especially caster) lets you toss the wheel and catch it where it needs to be instead of fighting it over and back, it makes it much easier and smoother to transition and hold a steady slide
. you were doing good for your first time out, just have to break that habit your next time out.
not my greatest runs (wheel jerking is tire rub) but you get the idea

edit: i'd bet you'd drift better with a stronger choice in music, lol.

new vid
alignment is horrible
like -4 of camber, and thats all i know for sure, this track day was a bit of a last minute thing, adn i had some fucked up wheels studs i had to replace at 2 in the morning lol
yeah the hand over hand thing was getting all fucked cause i was beign retarded, Ive never done that in autocross, ive alwasy done shuffle so i never went hand over hand like i learned at a school that i wqent to in NC at an autocross. I think that shit was liek a fluke that day, i was watching the vid and i was like Why the hell and i doing that?
but yeah, cant wait till the next one, im Bit by the bug lol
