Forged Performance: New Personal Best for the Porsche 996 GT3

This past Monday a small part of the Forged Performance Team spent our day at Road Atlanta for the CHIN Motorsports Track Day. There was plenty of track available to all drivers and many personal best lap times were set through out the day. One of those drivers was Forged Performance's own Sharif Abdelbaset in the track prepared Porsche 996 GT3 with an astonishing 1:31.8 laptime! This an unheard of laptime in the "old school" 996 GT3 street car chassis. Even in factory 996 Cup Car, this is an exceptionally fast time. To put this into perspective this is almost 4 seconds faster than the NASA GTS-4 track record! Here is a quick run down of this stock powered but track day modified GT3:

My thoughts (in order):

Holy shit 150mph coming into the drift loop!

Taking turns at 90mph+ like it's nothing.

Is that a shitty camera mount or is the suspension THAT stiff that it bounces the camera that much?

Gotta do a switch panel or at least a delete panel for that dash.

The camera is mounted to his helmet..... Nice lap!!

Slow hatch is correct the cam is mounted to his helmet. Trust me, 150mph on the back straight in that car is INTENSE. If you want to experience it yourself Sharif always welcomes passengers
