looks a lot like the 16a, just new front wing elements and rear wing.
the side pods still look goofy.
are they saying its a brand new chassis and design or jus a continuation of the 16?

I miss the Lolas and Reynards. I worked on a 99 Lola/Mugen FN for a bit, loved that car.

Here's what was written on Swift's site...

Swift Engineering, Inc. Selected as Formula Nippon Chassis Supplier

San Clemente, California – USA August 2007 - Swift Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the next generation race car for the Formula Nippon Racing Series. The new racing chassis dubbed 017.n is a clean sheet design with futuristic styling and performance improvements to supply the Japanese based racing series for competition 2009-2011.

I assume they used developments from the 014 and 016's on the 017.
