Acura wants to focus on North America. Kinda dumb as i feel the only reason to go sports car racing is to get invited to Le Mans.

Audi is gonna be run by privateers squads so they will not be as dominate as Audi Sport. In the first race of the European LMS, Kolles racing was fielding 2 R10s as they will be for the rest of 2009, but were in the mid pack. The Aston Martin has really proved itself as the strongest car his early but the Peugeots were not at that race so gas has definetly not beaten diesel yet.

The 2009 calendar Le Mans Series (Le Mans 24 is not part of any championship)

Check it out. They even have a worthy forum. My favorite thing about the site is detailed annalisis of race cars from the 1900's till today. For some, ot even goes into individual chassis.
