Yeah but it's just Solo 1 at the end of the day, and NASA runs better tracks, it's all good whatever you want to run run I was just curious.
I'm only running the 4 east coast events.Originally Posted by matthewAPM

Yeah, same here for this season as long as the car is together by the autobahn event.Originally Posted by Big Baller
Yeah, I saw that thing for the Yokohama shootout. That is awesome! Sadly, my car is to far away now from street class. But what I dont understand (and I might have miss read this) is why Yokohama says you can run any tire even if its not there tire, and as long as you have there sticker on the car you are in the shootout??
Solo 1 doesn't exist anymore, and Redline doesn't really get "TV" coverage.
There is a 12 show series this year dedicated to only the Redline Time Attack Series, Franchise Teams get guaranteed coverage there and on the podcast and in the magazines....I would say thats good coverage.Originally Posted by simontibbett

Ill have to look at my media packet when I get home. Corporate Sponsors don't care what kind of racing it is as long as their are viewers. I'm not looking to get picked up by a big team. If that were to happen that would be great but the reality is that its probably not going to.

And who said anyone was running time attack to get picked up by a team?![]()
Well I just thought that was your goal as it's mine to gain exposure and move up. True SCCA regional racing gets nothing, and one event a year on TV doesn't matter either. I have never seen Redline have their OWN coverage like own event. I didn't say sponsors don't care about coverage, but to get a BIG sponsor, they want more then just viewers. I know you can get sponsors for it as you can autocross, and obviously bigger being a larger series and not in a parking lot lol.
Quit confusing me.
Like young people in motorsports, they want to make it to a professional series where they dont have to pay for it. Right now, Redline is the smartest way to get on track. It would be almost impossible to get a sponsor for a IT car where you get one event covered in a magazine ONCE a year. Redline has some new exposure opportunities for teams. This includes TV coverage. And for sponsors that dont have the money to make commericals, this is the next best thing.Originally Posted by simontibbett
While you guys are on the topic about sponsors, what is a good way to try and pick some up????? Do you need to just have a good sales pitch, or do the reps go out to the events and come up to you if you are running well??? I am runnin auto x and a few pdx's this season, cause this is my first year of competetive racing. I am just curious.
Ask yourself this first, do you think you can win any of the PDX's this year or finish top 5? That's what a sponsor wants.Originally Posted by 4uh8ers

It's been posted countless times here, there is a schedule of all events somewhere in this section, probably on page one.
BUT www.soloatlanta.com. That site has everything you need to know.

yeah, modified is going to be a bad place for your car. Not that miata's are bad cars (because I owned and loved mine), but you have to deal with some really fast cars including a LS1 BMWOriginally Posted by simontibbett

You know theres no tire size limit in modified right?Originally Posted by matthewAPM
You better find a way to stuff 315s under there or you will be playing catch up.
Read the rules very carefully they have changed them a lot.
