So im not sure if this is the right section, but im sure ill get good answers.

So my birthday is coming up and I really want to treat myself to some driving lessons. I would just like to know any recommendations on any schools, and if anyone has any experience with any school?

Negative. I'm just a crew member. I think that's usually looked down on in the racing world. You're either a driver of a wrench.. No one wants you to be both. I say fuck that.

    Skip Barber FTMFW.

Or take your own car to the track, say a BMWCCA event or NASA, and get great track time and instruction using your own car.

And RedEj8 any drivers looking down on crew shouldn't be driving lol. Crew can really help a driver win or lose.

I say another for Skippy...BMW "M" school is also good and caters to beginners as well.

I mention BMWCCA because I am honestly impressed with the smoothness the events are ran. I work them for Road Atlanta and I can see students progress throughout a weekend. I also see the amount of track time they keep things running quickly.

^ its because people are so closed minded.

Racing schools are dependent on what the driver wants to get out of the school. If he wants to obtain his road racing license, go to a BMWCCA event isnt a good idea. If he wants to drive his car, skip barber is not a good place to go.

okay i havent been able to get on in a few days, but i guess I should say this..

Im looking for something that will pretty much teach me the basics of car control/racing. I would love to be able to drive my car on some sort of track/skidpad but what ever is fine. I deff dont have money so best bang for the buck/fairly cheap school is what im looking for.

^^ ill respond to ur pm in a min

Then go to BMWCCA event, best bang for the buck, use your car, lots of track time, don't let anyone tell you otherwise lol.

Skip Barber FTW if you want to do more then just learn, get your racing license, drive some fun cars, if you want more they offer more.

I work for a lot of these events doing flagging and communications, and we have to pay close attention, BMWCCA you see a car in the first session and the driver scares me, then by the end of day one he is plenty quicker and you see real instruction at work.
