    How did they cause this accident again? I'm willing to bet just about anything the Excursion sped up, even if it's just 10 mph, and the the lack of a sway control kit and/or manual electric brake control on the trailer allowed it to fish tail and lose control.

    Saying neighboring cars caused an accident is like putting the blame on a hot chick walking down the sidewalk because you rearended the car in front of you.

    I didnt see anyone near him. He moved to the left to get out of the way. He prob got a little out of control and instead of punching the gas, he hit the brakes.

    Its called Snaking and what the guy was supposed to do to correct it is slowly brake until the camper settles down. Learned that from Top Gear when the guys went on that camping "holiday"

    You can't brake out of that unless you are braking with the trailer only. You have to floor it to get it to straighten up, just like a FWD if the rear end is loose, then easily let off the gas while the other foot is gently on the brakes...that is if the trailer has brakes. Ideally you want to be able to control the brake bias on the trailer and use it to slow down the vehicle down then there is no way for it to "snake" as you say.

    I've had several trailers start to sway like that on me. I normally tow a 42" trailer with 3 cars on it but I've got a separate trailer controller. When it starts to sway I just hit the manual button and the trailer falls right back in line. If you're towing something that heavy and don't have separate controls you're just asking for stuff like this. Its clearly his fault as he swerved on his own while the other cars were maintaining their lane. Some people just have no business towing anything, just because you have the vehicle doesn't mean you should.
