You will see some sick cars out there for those. I believe it was one of the Redline series races was being held the day after our NASA event there last year so many of the cars were testing through the weekend. It was nice knowing Rado's Scion couldn't get away from me till we got to the back straight, then I just watched it get smaller quickly.

Actually, that was two years ago. Last year, the Redline Time Attack was run at the same time as our Time Trial sessions and, iirc, there weren't that many Time Attack cars last year. I know I didn't have to do anything special for them in the tower. I wonder if we'll have the Time Attack again this year when we go to Road Altanta in August.Originally Posted by Cool Cat Racing
Rado's Scion is pretty quick. But, they had a few problems with it throughout that weekend. I think they were breaking axles.
actually, yes.Originally Posted by slow_hatch
Its a $369.00 entry fee. Not bad for 2 days...
We will be there...should have a couple of shop cars competing. One of them should be running with the big boys.
this seems full of............hell yeah itz worth it.
I may be wrong but in years past I think you had to have a NASA TT license. I have one so I'm not worried about it. But you are correct people should be ready to be passed.Originally Posted by StraightSix
Everyone I've seen requires some sort of license whether it be NASA or SCCA. They won't just let anyone on the track, they become a safety hazard quickly. I may be out there in my 240 if I get it done by then. I've got some stuff to do before I drop it in TTU or it won't be very competitive at RA.

I thought the race itself was on Monday after the NASA event. I saw cars in the magazine coverage that I never saw in the pits all weekend. The sad thing is the best thing I saw all weekend was the Miata ghost ride itself down the hill, through the fence out onto pit lane before the morning session on Sunday. Everyone thought it was parked there since the ebrake was up but the brake failed and it rolled well over 200' through the pits and onto pit lane.Originally Posted by StraightSix

You aren't going to have very much fun in TTU running with Reese Cox in that C6 Z06. My STI is a TTU car now and I think I can get within 3 seconds of what I know he can run...I think.
You are correct but the timeline is all wrong. The first Time Attack was held the Monday after our August Road Atlanta date, two years ago. Last August, was when the Miata rolled down the hill on Saturday morning. The Miata is owned by my friend Bryan and our friend Matt was driving it the weekend it ghost rode itself onto grid.Originally Posted by Cool Cat Racing
I saw the magazine coverage from the Time Attack two years ago, and might have bought that issue of Super Street. I didn't see if there was any coverage of last year's event, though.
Reese is definitely fast. I think if Forest Bowen comes to Road Atlanta in August, he'll give Reese a good run. FWIW, Reese ran a 1:36 on Saturday and a 1:27 on Sunday at Road Atlanta in March.Originally Posted by Batlground
If you're at a NASA event, come by and introduce yourselves.
I think I'll do alright. It will take some time to sort out the new engine setup and some suspension changes but it should net roughly 550-600whp and somewhere between 2700-2800lbs. Built LS2's can be fun. Besides I'm out for myself and research. If I win great, if not I'm still getting the data I need to move forward.Originally Posted by Batlground

I'll for sure be there. About the license, I believe an SCCA license will transfer for 1 event until you have a NASA license.
I only wish my car was going to be done...![]()

Sounds good. We can always use more instructors. I'll be there on Friday, as well, and I should be there on time this time. In March, the start of the enduro was held by about 30mins, because the I had a test that day and the only computer that had the timing software installed was mine.Originally Posted by Cool Cat Racing
