Default CRX or EK- strip car

    what would you choose?

    CRX- 1819lbs-2034lbs
    EK- 2019 lbs - 21xx lbs

not only based on weight but whats the best all around car?

bigger engine will fit into EK easier but will fit into EF w/ more work

EK..longger wheel base...somtimes being too light isnt worth it...unless you're an NA guy.

The older suspension of the EF is not really setup well for drag racing. There is way too much slop in EF/CRX front suspensions. You can see then dancing around on high hp cars at the track. You lose a couple tenths just w/ that. I'd go w/ the EK just for the suspension difference. If you do choose the EF then be ready to shell out some $$ just on upgraded bushing, stabilizers, and traction bars. You'll need some of these parts on a EK but not as much. Oh and plus you have the benefit of a hydro tranny setup already there in a EK chassis compared to the cable tranny where you have WAY fewer options when it comes to gearing and clutch applications.

Bee made a good point about wheelbase but w/ a allmotor build it may not come into play as much.

yeah man that all makes sense.

why/what does the wheelbase make a difference in turbo or NA cars?

heres the plan: (its just a bracket car, so i can get some experience at the strip)

    EK hatch
H22a swap (stock for now) maybe build the head up
front/rear discs (off of an integra or something)
    slicks
    H2B kit w/ type r tranny
    axles
    decent header and exh.
    gutted interior
    roll cage

i should be able to do all that for about 10-14k if i do most of he work myself/find deals on parts and stuff

ive always wanted to drag race and its what i wanna do so i figured hell, why not start now.

PM 93H22ACX he had a EG hatch w/ pretty much the same setup as you'd like to do minus the B-series tranny. His car ran pretty fast N/A then he turboed it. He'd be the best one to inquire about when it comes to H setup drag cars.

We have a sentra @ 1890 lbs with out going all out. But there is another 200lbs to take off if we were keeping it fwd. So if you wanted to do a fwd track car you could go with a 1700lb sentra with a real easy 180whp sr20ve if you wanted to keep it na. All for well under 3k including the car. Add 2k for suspension and brakes and you got a pretty nasty mf. I know you were asking between hondas, but its good to look into other makes. I went through several makes to give them a shot. You wont know till you give them a shot.

I would say CRX if you have it already. Sometimes I think EK is just over priced.

EK all the way thats what i did, i have a 2000 civic hatch. My car is in ndra t/s and nhra sfwd trim and it weighs 2490 with me in it. thats with a full cage and all that jazz. Even in NA i wouldnt let weight be a big factor for a BRACKET car.
