I understand what your saying but if you do as you are saying (burnout) you would be at the top of your RPM and you would run the risk of over revving the engine or running to lean. Or you are saying tapping the button while rising to the top of your RPM range but the problem would exist of a sudden and audible jump in rev speed. This would give you away.

I also understand your theory on the roll racing situation. This would probably go off with out a problem to most people but if the person you are racing could still hear the audible tone of your car he would still hear the rev speed change.
