You can plug my s300 up and see what the tps is reading but if its clearing up when u get on it the its deff not fuel... ,ould be in the actual tune if its a chipped ecu or its possi le the mapsensor is reading wrong which has happened to me before

yeah i forgot about that its throwing map sensor. rick said he changed it but if it still throwing it might need to find another one
i love how everyone just throws shit at cars and doesn't spend the effort to learn WHY the car is malfuctioning... it could completly be fuel related, do you think cars dont run when they are lean??? i guess when you melt it down, you will figure it out... all of your sensors have readings that can be measured w/ a multimeter... invest in one and learn how to use it and you will amaze your friends on how to actually fix a car instead of just guessing at which part to throw at it next...
Have a question about replacing synchros in my gsr tranny. I have to replace my input shaft seal because it is leaking and want to go ahead and replace my synchros with carbon ones. How hard is it to do so? Ive done just about all the work on the car myself just never ventured into the transmission really. well not like this at least. was wondering the difficulty level and what all i really need to order besides the synchros? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
ight peeps got some issues with my new del sol. first, my passenger side blinker doesnt want to blink sometimes, then it will flash slow then go to normal flashing speed. second, horn doesnt work at all, isnt getting power to the horn or anything and yes the fuse isnt blown lol
sounds like you got some relay issues to me

pretty sure i drive a del sol and u should know haha. i fixed the blinker issue and ill hit up ben whenever i see him next
i need help guys! got some jdm headlights for the sol and i have two questions...is it safe to run hids since they are plastic? and how to i hook up the daytime running lights?
So about two weeks ago I went to crank my car and it turned over a few times then started sounding like the starter was spinning freely. The motor turns when I try to start it but its just a smooth turning, no hiccup at all like its trying to start. Since then I have checked the spark fuel and spark, it is getting both just fine. I laid the spark plug across the engine and there was spark, I also went ahead and replaced the coil and stuff just in case. I tried jumping it off just to give it a little more juice but got nothing. I loosened the bolt from the fuel filter and turned on the ignition and fuel sprayed everywhere like it should. Ive also checked every fuse and they are all god. Im at a loss so any help at all would be great. Thanks.
No compression... pour some transmission fluid in the cylinders and turn it over... you could always put a compression gauge on it to verify...
Did a compression test a few min ago and it wouldnt read anything then it blew out a puff of what looked like exhaust out of the intake and read 25psi. Did the same thing on every cylinder.
check the timing belt... 25 is not good... should be 180+
I checked it and its good and tight, no missing teeth, and my cam gears are set at the same place. Im at a loss with this car.
but have you put eyes on all of the timing marks... dont assume anything...
I did but I will double and triple check before I pull the head off next weekend.
take the gauge off of your compression gauge and hook an air source to it... make sure the valves are closed because you want to find out where the compression is going, idealy is the piston is at the bottom of the stroke, the air will push it there anyways... remove the radiator cap and look/listen for bubbles... remove the dip stick and listen for air.. remove the air intake, listen there and listen at the end of the tail pipe... if it comes out of the radiator, its a head gasket... if it comes out of the dip stick, rings or pistons... intake or exhaust pipe, its the corresponding valves... obviously it could be any combination of these... perform check on all cylinders and report back... that air is going to go somewheres...
Alright will do, I appreciate it.
Update: Ok I have compression, replaced everything in the dizzy so im getting good white fire now, and its turning over fine and trying to crank. But everytime it tries to crank it just puffs white smoke out of the intake.
Sounds to me like it's out of trimming??? Make sure it's dead on
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
not gonna run with no compression...lol
Just because the rotor button points towards cylinder one does not mean the cams are Dead on... make sure the alignment marks all line up
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
^^^this... ignition timing and cam timing are not the same...
Yup cam gear marks are far from lining up flush with the head when the crank pulley marks line up. Ordered a timing belt/water pump so ill be doing that this weekend.
I've been telling him what to do I guess he doesn't believe me lol.
Did the timing belt and timed it with the timing light. All of that is dead on but the new issue is that it is idling very hard and has a 2500 rpm fuel cut. Any more insight on this?
hows your clutch? does it drop to the floor any?
my mini cooper s is in need of new turbo oil lines. is it a good idea to make custom lines? if so where can i find a kit or something?
