The only thing with all those 3 and the audi is the cost of repairs.
Just go get a triple bc, big black box chevy. Then we can go hang out at the civic center.
I used to want one of them baddddddddd back in like 7th grade. They're still pretty cool though.
93 hatch is throwing a cel code 3, which is map. Ive replaced it 3 times, tried the ecu to. Anyone have a clue whats going on.
Well I consider the diffs an "it is what it is" situation. I spent $1k on it and they fought me on the first one with warranty. Ended up prevailing and they never even questioned the second. At one point (Paul you should remember this) I was running about 35 psi on my mk3; not sure how that equates to torque but I would suspect it to be somewhere in the 425-525 range with my cam and intake manifold.
The problem with the transmissions lies in the style. There are only a few designations of VW transmissions and they are all (generally speaking) easy to interchange. I never had a good one (O2M 6 speed) until my current GTI mostly due to cost. In hindsight, a full conversion would have been cheaper in the long run, but I shelled 2 or 3 of these when I was in high school and college (no $$$).
As a reference, my current VW has 23k with no issues; my previous mk4 had it's first one replaced under warranty at ~15k miles.
BMW = bloated rwd VW. Ultimate driving machine my ass, you don't see any BMWs killing in any top grade racing series. WOOT R10 TDI!!!
My 07 Si was the worst of my Jap cars save my old WRX (total turd rocket). However, I had a Mazda Speed6 and that was just as nice (if not nicer) as any car i've ever had. A major issue was the piston blowing threw the front of the block at ~19k miles.
did you do a swap on the car? and if so, what engine is in there now? i did a swap on my 93 dx, when i put the new motor in, it had a map sensor on the fire wall and on the throttle body. it would throw a code...lol
does the code come on right when the car starts? or does it idle for a min, then throw one. more info man~! lol
maps on throttle body, throws code right when i start it, idles at like 1500rpm and stays there.
did a d series swap.
That's what Richards gettin to.
ok.
i got a d15b8 swap in there. its from a 94 cx. the harness and ecu are from the cx also.
i also have the iac unplugged and it idles a like 1-200rpm just enough to stay running.
Why do you have the IAC unplugged?
Oh and we need an introduction before you start asking questions lol
cj pankey.
i have it unplugged so i can actually drive it that way when i stop its not at 1500rpms
Yea but it was cammin and that was the map sensor right?
Do you have coolant lines goin to the IAC? All the vacuum hoses on there and not broken or leaking.
Haaaayyyy!!!
lines are on everything is on. no leaks. just the map code.
So you have no extra plug for another map sensor?
When did the code come on? Did you just swap the motor? Have you tried to reset the ecu?
been on since i did swap, was not on in other car. drove the engine before i got it. have reset the ecu. i have a plug somewhere i could use, you think thats the problem?
or maybe i misunderstood you asking if i had another plug for the one that goes on firewall?
if so, then no i don't. it didnt have one in the car it came out of either.
Teymur check this shit out, Miller went 180mph and set the world record for the outlaw class. Mind you this was done in full street trim! Boost was around 61 lbs and horsepower between 1400-1500

13 hours-ish til i'm in columbus.
map sensor is hooked up. the plug on it is the right one. theres no other plugs for it besides the tps that will even fit. its just throwing the code for some reason, which i cant figure out.
hes been doing good. he opened the parachute business and i really haven't seen him since then.
Got the head in today. Hopefully the transmission will come tomorrow, then I will grinding for the next few days. I will update my build percentage as things get finished, so that I can read what ASH7:2up: has to say.
Dang that's to bad.
lookin forward to the choice of ideal words that he is gonna throw together
I got a new oil pan and got it back on, let the car idle for about 45mins. Its still leaking from somewhere guess it my rear main seal possibly :( if i take the trans off im gonna go ahead and get a dog box trans or either the dog engaugement conversion and change turbo setups, step up to a 67mm and finish the fuel system
