    you can bolt STI or wrx stuff right onto the forester basically. WRX stuff is a 2.5in drop or STI is a 3.5in drop on stock springs

    you got some work ahead of you. if you are looking to go any type of forced induction, you don't want to be running 11:1 comp. that's high and will increase chance of detonation quick. highest i would ever recommend is 10:1. but you better have at least a blockguard.

    it really just depends on what kind of setup you want to have for the car when finished. if you're looking for 270-300hp all motor, lol, good luck, that is hard as fuck to accomplish. boosted, it should be easy as hell with the right parts and a tune.

    it's all money man..

    I may wind up going down either the turbo or SC route. I'm getting prices for a good build. May take me a couple months, but I plan on having this thing around the 270-300 range. I may just do a nice rebuild with a turbo. I'm pulling the motor and I'll slowly build it. I may not even go with the 2.0 sleeves. And a JRSC is really fucking expensive.

    What is a good tranny for a turbo build on a B motor? I've seen a lot of people getting the GSR... but I'm confused about it.. The B16 tranny gears are close to the GSR one.. they're just a longer stroke.. and weaker. I think..

    block guard goes around the cylinder walls for extra strenth. should find some info here.

    transmission, i'd go GSR with LS 5th and Final Drive. the gears will be extended just a little bit and you should be able to still run the factory LSD with the GSR.

    since you're hp goals can be achieved very easily, you might only need to get just a few parts with a good tune. like, rods pistons and cams.

    I'll check into that block guard. I believe I'm going down the turbo road. Seems a lot easier. I was looking into all motor at first, but after a good bit of research (and people laughing at the numbers I want). I'm going the turbo way. Be cheaper and probably a lot more safe.
    I know I want enough power.. but not so much that I have no traction.

    you can achieve the 270-300hp goals all motor. but trust me, its not going to be easy, you will spend just as much cash getting those numbers as you would building a 600+hp turbo car.

    a C5, huh? those run somewhat high compression stock. you will need to chance the pistons out for sure. i would still recommend going with rods, pistons and cams with a good tune. block guard, as always, just to be on the safe side. i would try eagle rods, JE piston heads with ARP head studs, with a compression around 10:1 at the highest. and maybe some skunk2 pro1 or pro2 cams. only get the pro3's if you very serious about high numbers, which in this case, you wouldn't need them. then boost with a t3/t4 turbo kit. get a tune, and you will be very close to the range of what you are looking for.

    you can have 400+hp and still get traction with the right tires. but i wouldn't over do it though. 300hp will be plenty enough to keep most people from messing with you, and running a 400+hp car as a DD will cause a lot of problems. i know a guy who did it and it fucked his tune all up. at the car's prime, it was layin down about 450hp. hitting 13's at the track.

    edit. i say you will be looking to spend around $3000 or more. just to turbo the car is going to be about $2000. but thats all if you did it yourself. minus the tune.

    rods will run about $300 brand new.
    piston heads will run about $4-500 new
    pro2's are about $650 new

    you should be able to find all this stuff for cheaper used. just make sure its all still in good condition. i'm sure most of it could be found in the for sale section on here.

    last edit, i swear, lol.

    the pro2's are seen hp gains of about 20hp or so. i would suggest running pro1's since pro2's say you will need to upgrade the entire valve terrain.

    pro3's though, are fucking serious. i would not mess with these unless i had a fully built motor running like 9:1 compression and shooting for around at least 500hp.

    the pro1's are good for goals which you are going for.

    just hit up google and research the fuck out of different parts and see whats out there.
