yeah there was a lot of work involved in cutting the subframe and working the tunnell with a hammer... and still more to come when the motor comes back out. right now the trans is touching in a few places so i'll work that stuff out when i pull it apart to clean everything up and prep for final assembly.

still waiting on exhaust manifolds, harness to come back, mufflers, driveshaft and a few other bits to show up. all are on order and should be here within the week (other than the harness). i need to climb under the dash and connect the wilwood clutch master to the pedal asssembly and start putting that back together with the new cluster while i wait for other parts.

    small update:

manifolds and radiator have finally shown up, but the wiring harness won't be back until next week from Hinson. so far they are 0 for 2 with me on parts . if he'd kept up his end of the deal i'd have the car running by this weekend and actually have time to shake the car down and break in the clutch (and learn the car)... now i'll be lucky to have the thing running by Nopi let alone broken in.

what rear end are you going to use. The stock one will not hold that much torque will it?

yes it will. i will be upgrading the diff later but it's not like i'm launching the car on drag slicks... it's a drift car. either way, the stock nissan R200 is a tough setup, i'd surely break an axle before the diff.

no, i built custom mounts and did the subframe work myself. the only thing i was relying on hinson for was the harness work, which i'm now kicking myself in the ass for since time is everything to me right now and he's 2 days over his stated delivery date.

I had heard that Hinson was slow on getting things back to you. Hopefully you have what you need by now.

Hinson has fucked me over terribly. i'm scrambling to find another harness though as the car is pretty much ready to run otherwise

he will undoubtedly blame it on the shipping service, but i don't believe it was ever shipped at all.

I just came upon this thread. Everything looks amazing. Im not going to Nopi, but I would def. like some detailed feedback on how the car responded and performed.

thanks man. it ran great until today, the oil pump gave up on life and i believe i spun a rod bearing . guess that means it's time to throw in a higher volume pump, cam, and some better valvetrain and run up the rev limiter .

tore it down most of the way and pulled off the rod caps. spun 3 rod bearings on cylinders 1/4/6, with 6 being the worst by far. 1 and 4 were still together, just spun around inside the rod end. #6 is straight trashed

i'll take more pics when i pop the main caps off.

it's a 50k motorset. the cylinders still have crosshatching in them so it's not worn that bad.
