for starters i would go with an HPI 1/10 sclae Nitro kit, mainly because parts are readily available for every application.

As far as the WRC Focus body goes; you can get any body for any pretty much car. Just make sure it is consistent with the scale.

I don't attend any events. The hobby isn't highly supported like it is out in California, but we do find nice vacant lots to run them in.
