Default Critique My Shots (Daytime Phototesting)

As some of you all know I love taking night shots the most. Here are a few day shots I took today with my car after a nice wax job. The weather is amazing outside! So please, give me your pros and cons of the photos and what you would like to see different.

Photos were shot in aperature priority for the most part with daylight white balance. They were shot in RAW then saved to JPG in CS2.

    Camera: Nikon D50
    Lens: Nikkor 18-55mm / Quantaray 70-300mm

Good shots, good location. I would have personally taken the pictures right at dusk when car pictures seem to turn out the best. Im pretty big into photography and think that angles just kill a picture, but you'res dont seem to bad. Overall, very nice.. keep up the good work.

Like someone else said...shooting at dusk/dawn is your best times of the day. You have less harsh shadows.

The quality is good and some of the composures. It seems like you are shooting the wrong side of the car. You shoot the shadow side and not the sunlit side. Slight shooting angles are ok...but if you gotta twist your head to look at the pic, I think it's too much.

    overall good job.

The only reason I didnt take shots at dusk was because I knew I was going to be busy late in the afternoon and into the evening, plus the little challenge of shooting mid-day. But yeah I definatly agree about shooting on the sunlit side, but most of those sides actually had ugly backdrops since construction was going on in the area, which pretty much was the only reason I shot some angles. I took multiple shots of the same area, some angled, and some straight forward, and it just seemed for the most part with the area I was taking the pictures in, the straight forward ones were pretty boring.

hmmm lil bit of critique from me... i'm a big line person. i love the 3rd pic because of all the lines and shapes. the placement of the car could be a bit better in some of the pics. but over all i like your work. i suck at photography but i know a lil. very nice all in all +1

    hmm - critiquing time

the 2nd pic - wth the grass - it just sorta kills it, and takes away from the car

mainly so I think because A) its a vivid color in a relatively black and white picture shoot ( color wise of your surroundings ) and B) its also in the foreground

but the first and third?.... damn

The pictures were taken pretty much right at noon. I knew they werent going to turn out great at all really, just wanted to try it out. Plus everything in the backgrounds are practically white, so the photo seems blown out in a lot of places. Its all good though
