    Default So you say you like polished wheels?

    So, I decided to take the plunge. And my hands/wrists are very angry with me. I have finished one wheel and about half way on another. I will update as I finish.





    I first hit the wheels with some stripper, and then (with gloves on) used a scuff pad to get the paint off. I then used coarse steel wool on the whole wheel, then medium steel wool, and then fine steel wool. After that I wet sanded with 800 grit, then 1000 grit, and then 1200. Then it was on to a little mothers polish. Still have a little cleanup to do as far as the barrels, but overall I think it came out good. Here's the pics:

    They honestly look better in person, my phone camera isn't quite capturing them.

    i dont miss polishing wheels...but 5 spokes are generally the easiest to do
