    Default Carbon Fiber in ATL

Wanted to see who else is addicted to carbon fiber in the Atlanta area

I have two toys that are being worked on and trying to finish. YES, I KNOW I NEED TO FINISH THEM LOL....Easier said then done. Anybody else going the carbon fiber route? Doesnt matter if its cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, airplanes...

Nice car, lame bike. For the money you put into modifying that lame duck bike, you probably could have had a decent bike.

the bike is my first and to all their opinion. Its a blast to ride and I love it. The first TLR I had was perfect until it was stolen so I bought the same bike so I could put the carbon fiber parts I already finished "not on bike when stolen" onto this bike. The gas tank was already finished on the other bike but that was on the bike at the time of theft.

This thread isnt about money or what you like/hate. Simply wanted to see other carbon fiber whips. There isnt one car in the entire WORLD that has a 100% approval rating lol From Lambos to Bentlys to Benz NOT ONE of them. So lets just simply see keep it on topic please and thank you

redr1 (who doesn't post much on here) and I both have BST CF wheels on our bikes. His 1098 is all CF bodywork also. I have some CF as part of my bodywork on my R1 also.

Suzuki's designers admit making their bikes ugly on purpose. They deserve to be ridiculed. Also...... how well does suzuki do on the professional circuit? Either way..... wouldnt matter how fast the bike was, it still makes me want to throw up.

If you want a unique sounding vtwin sport bike..... there's a dignified way to go about it.

And to answer your question, from 1999-2006 Suzuki took the winning trophy home 5 out of the 8 years in super stock 1000. Since then BMW has been battling Ducati

Haven't we been over this before? You wrap a layer of carbon around the existing part. You might as well vinyl wrap it and save some money. There's no actual part engineering going on here.

You have no clue then. My BST wheels are not wrapped, and my bellypan on my R1 is carbon Kevlar - not wrapped.
The 1098s is not wrapped plastic or fiberglass either. These are CF only parts on these two bikes.

Do they make $4000 worth of difference?

Let me state it this way.

I had stock wheels and switched to forged Marchesinis. Everyone that rides will tell you how big of a difference that makes in handling. They aren't lying. It's much easier to flip it side to side.

When I took off the Marchesinis and put on the BSTs it was a MUCH, MUCH more noticeable change. Flipping the bike side to side happens before you finish thinking that you want to, and there was an immediate noticeable impact on acceleration and braking. If you get on the throttle while running on the interstate, you have to move up over the tank. I never felt that I needed to with the Marchesinis.

Is that worth $4K? To some, yes, to others, no.

Strangely, i was reading about this right before entering this thread and people were raving about how good of a mod it was. I might look into replacing my front wheel, not sure i care enough to spend that kind of cheddar on both.

The exterior of my Z is replacement psrts. The bike is wrapped with real carbon fiber and I understand what you guys like/ dislike but personally I don't care lol. This thread is simply to see what members out here have a carbon fiber vehicle. Carbon fiber is an arguement that can go on for days but folks need to realize something, times have changed and there's an enormous market for carbon fiber wrapping. Nobody is having this discussion again, you simply started to state you opinion on carbon fiber and it's simply a thread for folks to post cf whips

Anyways, so only three people and so far it's bikes

Yea I saw you guys pull up as I was leaving, those things look awrsome. It was my first day back on the bike in months and had to order some parts

Also Aeroscout, based on your history of posts http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/users/42543/ you appear to just be a negative individual. Let the individuals that oppose your method of thibkibg be allowed to express something without the wrath of your empire striking us down. I'd admit it. Ur better than me "even though I don't know who u are, what u drive, what u look like or etc".

If you haven't noticed, carbon fiber is used as several different applications .

You posted after my post. That sure would make it seem that you were discussing all posts, not just the OP, as you did not single that one out. If targeting the OP, please mention that when you post to clear up potential confusion.

If you work in a CF shop, then you already know that your own statement wasn't exactly correct. So, I don't know why you would have made that statement in the first place. - Unless you are only referring to the OP.

I want an 848. Doesnt have to be the evo. Surprisingly enough, they are very reasonably priced.

If you see my GS-R sold by next year, you'll know why.
