I remember when the rule for HIDs was to get 6k, anything higher you were called a ricer. Now just having HIDs without projector headlights, your a ricer. I honestly do not like the way cars like Civics or Integras look with projectors lights. Projectors for me look better on cars like Lexus for example. I understand that you are frustrated, but you also have to understand its not your car. People will always make mistakes and the only thing you should worry about is keeping that Miata clean.
