Default Picked up a 2012 Turbo Beetle

Go ahead flame away, my mustang forum has been on me since I posted it. Anyway car has 29 miles on it, HIDs and 19" wheel package, 6 spd MT. Here are some quick pics from last night.

Plans for APR stage 1 ECU, intake and ST coilovers.

    Thoughts? All comments welcome

I really like the new styling ever since I saw them. Got a great deal on this one!

They're not bad cars at all, but the styling is something I could never get past. I've driven a few of these though, and they drive nice.

I like this body style over the previous gen, can't say I'm a fan of those wheels though. But as a whole I like it.

Very nice! The new beetles look awesome in the new styling! So much more aggressive and less girly Plus, it's totally not fair that the turbo beetle gets a boost gauge and the GTI's don't. Kinda jealous...

FYI...I believe APR has a sale right around the middle-end of April. Just some food for thought if you're looking to save a little money. Good choice to GoAPR!

Yeah, those wheels look better on the GTI, honestly. No joke.

Interior looks ugly to me. Put some power in that and make some people upset that they lost to a beetle lol

i personally would have kept that mustang, as clean as it looked, but that's just me, i dont like euro cars, because while they are AWESOME performance car, some parts are hard to find or expensive or both when they need repair,

i would say smaller wheels and coiled would better, either way it's a new car and YOU like it

Not a big fan, especially how shitty the prior gen was. At the end of the day it's your car and money. Can't really hate on a new car when I drive a '95, lol.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the heads up on the sale Roxie. Unfortunately I just missed their sale for coming in 2nd at the 24 hour Daytona race. I really want that race gas tune!

And Julio from what I've read it seems APR has really stepped up their game from their past rep. I know a guy who is affiliated with Buckhead Imports Performance and he said they do custom tuning, but I'm not familiar with their rep/results at all.

GIAC, Revo, and Uni are more "aggressive" tunes, but lack the quality that apr possesses. You'll put down more power with the others, but I wouldn't really feel comfortable with any of the competitors product on my car.
The APR stage 1 is great, trust me. I have it right now and I'm about to go stage 2 in about a week (waiting on a downpipe). Plus, with the APR HQ barely a state away, it's worth the drive to have them do it themselves, and you'll get to see their facility and learn exactly why they're the better choice.

Trust me on this. I have 0 regrets with my apr tune. Plus, their customer service is #1

I had 0 issues with my Audi... Frequently tracked and other activities.. Put about 25k miles tuned w/ Giac.. Between 20Lbs of boost and peaking around 25..but then again, not sure how it is now.. Been out of that for awhile.

Yah dealer gave me $10,500 for it. With the way a trade works on a new car I could pass it up.

Nah she just likes her V Dubs, I can tell. One of my best friends had a VR6 GTI back in '99-'02. He loves V Dubs too and he likes this Beetle. Again it isn't for everyone but I appreciate it man, it is nice to get a new car regardless.

PS - Are you saying I need to tint to hide myself or make the car look better lol j/k man thanks again.

    91 - 250hp 294tq
    93 - 254hp 303tq
    100 - 273hp 337tq

These are the same numbers for the GTI, but since it's still the 2.0 TSI in the Beetle, you're right there too. Stage 1 is all about the low-end torque, so you're really not gonna feel too much more after 3rd gear (assuming it's the same in the Beetle as it is in the GTI).

Now, I actually checked GIAC for numbers (since I don't know what they put out), but they have no product specifically for the new Beetles....which doesn't really make sense why they wouldn't since it's still the 2.0 TSI. I'd put down the numbers for their GTI software, but if there's no part # for their product on the beetle, I guess there's no point? Still checking into it

Also, another thing to note about the mk6 is the clutch. It kinda sucks lol If you go anything past Stage 1, I would look into some aftermarket clutch kits. Mine has held up pretty well under Stage 1 power, but these things have a knack for going out right after Stage 2. It's best to be prepared for that if you have plans to go past Stage 1.
