Shelby America just modifies cars. So to get a Super Snake you have to buy a GT500 first then ship it too them and pay lots of money to have them modify it.

Neat car but not for me. Plus who said anything about mine not having 850hp

However...to compare this to a Zr1 is not an accurate comparsion...Maybe in a straight line it will match performance..however I do not believe that even w/850hp that it will come close to what the Zr1 has done on the Nur or even Laguna Seca...the ZR1 has just beaten the Viper that was built to beat it ....the viper has brand new tech while the ZR1 is working off of 5-6 year old tech...just shows you how advanced it was...


No matter how much HP you put into a car...weight and suspension are still factors that need to be addressed....and when both cars are crazy fast it becomes an even bigger deal.

Its a nice Gt500...more HP...wide stance..bigger tires/wheels....but a ZR1 it will never be....or beat overall IMO.

Agree 100%. The Mustang is not a sports car. Doesnt matter how much hp you throw at it. They can handle well for what they are but to compare them to a 2 seat sports car is a little out there. Good thing I could care less about "The Ring" times

With a CAI, TB and tune It picked up over 60rwhp. Doesnt take much to open these cars up. Ford has been leaving a lot on the table for you to play with since the 2003 Cobra.

I hate mustangs but this one isn't all that bad looking, but I doubt it will out preform the zr1 vett. Deff would out preform the new Camaro though.

There are not many cars that are light weight when it comes to anything more then 2 seats now a days. Safety, emissions, luxury items, ect..

Not much you can do about it. If I could order one stripped out with no ac, radio, manual windows I would have for sure. I totally agree with you on that part of it. Like the '95 Cobra R and '00 Cobra R.

They are not trying to compete with the Corvette or Viper hahaha. Those are 2 seater sports cars. Ford last sports car was the Ford GT. The fact that it can be compared to and even out perform those cars in some categories just goes to show how well Ford is doing. Even with a solid rear axle and a 3800lb+ car.

My truck weighs barely under that, has half the horse power and still makes me scream like a little girl lol Who cares about weight? A lot of new econo cars weigh more... Its a sweet car. The one in the pic just needs its wheels painted white, and I'd own it in a heart beat if I had the money! And this is coming from a bow tie guy

This but there will definitely be a chip on somebody's shoulder for having what I assume to be 100 or more horsepower than the new C7Z variants. Either I find it to be impressive and looks good too. In no way would I call it a POS... maybe the interior

I agree with you 100%. A C6Z will run right along a 2013 GT500 and it has 150hp less so I totally understand what you're saying. Guess it depends on the person and their opinion/taste of vehicles.

It's not just the seating arrangement that makes it a non-direct competitor with the Corvettes. It competes more with the Camaro (GM dropped the ball on the ZL1 570~hp), and the Challenger. Ever heard of the term "pony" car or "muscle" car? These are the only ones less. The Corvette is more than just horsepower, straight line, and blowing the tires off.

I'm not knocking any of the muscle cars, they were built with a purpose and can be made to handle quite nicely.

They didn't TRY to compete with the ZR1, it's a Mustang, not a Corvette. Corvettes race Ferraris, Mustangs race Camaros. It would still walk any of your cars in a straight line or road race. lol
