There have renderings out from Jalopnik for a few months ( Exclusive: This is the 2014 Chevy Corvette ) and they are very close to what C&D have come out with. So I am fairly confident this is what it will look like. No real interior shots except from outside the spy car showing the seats.

The roof line looks similar to the GTR/370Z. The rear end looks like an ugly bitch that got hit with a 2x4.

The motor will be named "LT1" which most of us know has already been used. This will still be a 6.2L but with up to date technology vvt, di, and cylinder shut down (not on manuals woot!).

Here is the dyno sheet from GM and a picture of the motor. At first I was not impressed with the peak numbers of the LT1 but the horse power curve looks good to me compared to the LS3 curve. However it still says projected. The TQ curve is close to the LS7 curve which definitely excites me.

The front of the Viper is a little too rounded for me. I will have a Viper one day but with insurance it will be a C7 next for me or CTS-V wagon. However she'll (the Viper) be a beast and out of the league of the "Base" or "GS" Corvette in this post.

For the love of God poeple, its a photoshopped GTR body with elements of what Jalopnik posted months ago. Can any of you actually read?

why is it on every new car it seems the designers start at the front, and by the rear fender they just go "fuck it" and slap some shit on?

Camaro, Taurus, GT86/BRZ, EVO X all have awful rear ends

    *sigh*

Notice the Hoffmeister kink, the slope of the rocker panel, and all of the angles of the rear. It's just a shop (a professional one) of a GTR with the C7 nose and Camaro elements on the rear.

Yes I do agree very similar, I just don't think it's a PS from the GTR. Hopefully you are right so the back does not look that way. Is it completely impossible that they both have the kink?

Also the leak from Omega this summer also leaves me to believe this is the front.

The earlier renderings are straight up Ferrari 599. The "newer" ones you can clearly spot the GT-R's side mirror.

    Still ugly. Gag me.

On these spy-shots, I am rather intrigued by the fact that the camouflage is purposely allowing airflow past the side windows. Clearly they want/need air moving through there for testing otherwise the material would be flush from the b-pillar to the body.

I got it to do a 7:36 with an oil change. However can't really compare these to real life. Clarkson pointed this out with the NSX a few years back lol.

There looks to be some type of intake on the rear hatch. Could be just for the brakes or tranny/diff?

A lot of people on CF forum are not happy about it. I personally like it. Can't wait until they hit the streets

I haven't a clue myself. I see door handles, but those don't need vents lol. I'd imagine any diff cooling could be sourced under the car. Notice the exit vents in the material as well. Looks like there is some sort of diffusing/venting on the sides of the rear bumper as well...afterall, the C6's bumper is quite the parachute....at least it seems everytime I see one driving at highway speed and observe the rear bumper flexing. The other speculation is that the camouflage is "opened" like that in an effort to hide the rear hatch/body lines and the exit vents are just part of this. I'm guessing this is also the case with the "wing" on the rear- just a way to throw off the body lines. I'd also hope the rear hatch really isn't that flat either. Lastly, the bulges on the rear bumper and the extra hard-lines on the door are suspect of throwing off the lines of the car IMHO.

FWIW on GT5 under the camo they have vents on the hatch...

Edit: You can actually see it on the 3rd picture you posted.

Very interesting. I honestly couldn't tell if that was a door handle or not in the other pics.

Edited post after finding the following quote-

But Chevrolet took a little time to elaborate about the C7′s design and aerodynamics, through the voices of Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter and exterior design manager Kirk Bennion.

“The all-new Corvette integrates more high-performance aerodynamic features than ever before, many taken directly from Corvette Racing”, Juechter said. “For example, the front grill and radiator flow paths reduce lift, improving vehicle stability at high speeds by keeping the car pressed to the pavement. In addition, functional vents increase track capability by channeling air to the brakes, as well as heat exchangers for the transmission and differential.”
I'm having fun sifting through pictures and trying to figure this out. I'm sure there is plenty of talk on CF and similar forums, but I don't frequent those, so...
I can see why some may not be happy about having vents on the side/back "ruining" the lines of the car though. In the few spy shots of the 'vert, I can't really make out if there are vents there or not.
I wonder if the vents will be part of a package or performance model (ZXX?)

I can see something there, but it's not nearly as pronounced as it seems in the coupe shots.

Yeah there is a lot of information on CF but it's so boring due to all of these old men bitching about taillights and speculating on how much road noise the car is going to have. However I have been searching for what the sports package will be such as the Z51 on the 2006-2009 cars (later replaced by the grand sport) and have not found much. I know that a dry oil sump will be offered in the package but nothing else for sure. Also it might just be the grand sport package just like the late C6s or something similar. Those function vents are pretty cool that they will be directed to all three; brakes, tranny, and diff. Where did you find that quote at? Also who knows if any of this will be offered the first year of production. A separate aero package would be sweet on these cars. Why can't it just be 1/13/13?? hahaha

Edit: Truthfully I haven't even seen the vert test mule.

    C7 Hatch Frame - PistonHeads

Looks like the kink is there, according to this post. Also from the second picture it seems like there will be enough room for the vents we were talking about on the rear deck.

If they are, they're not cut out on that piece yet. Seems like they might be leaving it an option and may not apply to all models.

Yes I was assuming from the "dip" down areas where the vents would be placed.

Found this, apparently it is from the manual of the C7 showing the vents and ducts...

My God those rendered taillights look like shit...way too much like that abomination they call a "Camaro". I wonder if GM is playing some kinda game and having material that needs to outside of GM have different pictures to throw everyone off lol
