You're saying you can still maneuver a car with the wheels locked? lol
IF there is somewhere to "abort" to, the correct thing would to be brake, slow the car down as much as possible, trail off the brake and turn to where you want to go to avoid whatever you're wanting to avoid.
If you lock the wheels, game over unless you can modulate it and unlock the wheels, people think threshold braking is just slamming that pedal to the floor. You can't turn when your front wheels aren't spinning.
I don't know why you're saying to get back on the gas.

Sort of preaching to the choire, either people will learn or they wont. But I know for me, it took me having close friends die in high school to auto accidents for me to learn. Its a hard lesson, but everyone learns it differently. Back then, I wouldnt listen to anyone else for shit. Just part of the mindset.
