    Default Matte Black GTR

Been in talks with a customer of mine who was interested in having his Nissan GTR wrapped till he got it painted. His paint was to far gone for detailing as he loves to drive his car and track it. So until his paint job, he always wanted it Matte Black. So he got with me about doing a full wrap on his car. He dropped off his car last week and the goal was to have it done by Caffeine and Octane.

We wanted to make this thing look perfect. I think, the customer thought and everyone at C&O thought we did. Customer was beyond happy with his car, a few GTR customers stopped by my shop to watch the build and see the car and were blown away. It was great being at C&O and hearing a lot of people think the car had a $8-10,000 Matte Paint Job on it. We removed anything we could that would allow for a more fluid wrap and more coverage...and just a overall better wrap.

    Now for the GTR...

    Day 1:

Prepping the paint and minor dis-assembly.

    Day 2:

Hood wrapped, roof wrapped, antenna wrapped and more dis-assembly.

    Day 3-4:

Trunk wrapped, spoiler wrapped, roof trim wrapped, rear bumper wrapped and some reassembly.

    Day 5-6:

More dis-assembly, side mirrors wrapped, doors wrapped, fenders wrapped.

    Day 7:

Front bumper wrapped and final reassembly. Vehicle cleaned and ready for Caffeine and Octane....which was in 3 hours after finishing the car.

Was a ton of fun doing this. What wasnt fun was putting in 37 hours the final two days. Tons of fun going to C&O with only an hour and a half of sleep lol.

Here is a final shot of a side view before and after...

Then a few photos I have seen so far of it at C&O!

Color is up to the owner. It actually looked really damn good with matte will look even better with his BBS LM's on it.

Just like anything you will have those who like and those who dislike.

That goes without saying, homey. Personally, I'm just not a fan of the car itself or the work, lolol. But I'm not knocking either of it.

If you don't mind, how much does something like this cost? I wouldn't mind wrapping my car until I get it painted in a couple years.

I'm not a fan of the car either but they are monsters. I'm even less of a fan of those hideous wheels. Overall though, it looks awesome.

You would need to pm, with what type of car and what you are wanting it wrapped in. Can run anywhere from $1700-8,000. $8k being a Chrome wrap lol.

Yeah, i do not like the Black Edition Wheels either, but they are some of the best wheels you can use for tracking. Plus they are not cheap. Seen a few sets of them go for sale upwards of $5000.

Has a 2009 GTR, with some extremely rare parts, pays to have it wrapped till he does a Black Opal paint job in less than 6 months. Its great when you dont own a honda and have choices.

When he goes to sell his $80k car, he'll have a flawless original paint job.

Nope. Simply peal the film off and you have the original paint underneath. Now if you put vinyl on terrible condition paint that is cracked, road rash, heavily chipped you might pull up some paint with it.

I would like to do my car in this same wrap, but I wonder how much it would cost to get something like this done?

PM him. He just said it depends on the car and what wrap.

And folks, full disassembly and reassembly of a vehicle for paint or wrap isn't cheap or quickly done.

Mad respect for the work done, especially to an expensive car.

As stated below, depends on the car, what vinyl you go with and to what extent you want wrapped.

Nope. Took about 15-20 from dis-assembly and reassembly.
